Great Jacket

I received this jacket as a replacement for my thunderhead jacket. I ordered the xxl as I like to have extra room to wear a thick puffy underneath. This coat fits larger than the thunderhead equivalent but is still quite functional and lighter. It’s a bit noisier than the thunderhead but is nowhere near the chip bag crinkling sound of most rain jackets.

Quieter than the DEW POINT, 100% Waterproof

Great Jacket for rainy day turkey hunting or a early season sit in the whitetail woods. I bought mine in Cover 2 as a Spring/Early Fall system, coat and pants. Quiet enough to pull the bow back with no "crunchy" sounds. Ultra lightweight, and breathable for climbing into the stand or a muggy rainy morning calling in turkeys. 10/10 would recommend.

Life is good in a Downpour

This is similar in weight

This is similar in weight to the Dee Point jacket, so it’s nice and light. However, it is much less crinkly and noisy. I’ve used it a few times so far and it has been great.

Watery Pockets

The hand pockets for this jacket are where you'd find them on a typical rain jacket. However, when its raining cats and dogs, and you're trying to keep your hands dry inside of these pockets, you'll notice that the rain drains right down your sleeve, straight into the hand pocket, filling it with water and soaking your hands anyway. If the pockets were higher, perhaps over the chest, then the natural bend of elbow would be the low point, allowing water to drip off without getting into the pockets. I have used this jacket in a literal downpour 3 separate times in the Northern Idaho woods, and all three times, the jacket pockets fill up with water despite my hands being tucked inside nearly the whole time. I typically love Sitka clothing, but for a company that prides itself on their clothing being "gear", this is a fail.

I didn't know I needed this

This replaces my old downpour.

This replaces my old downpour. Warranty issue. I'm pretty disappointed, the material is totally different. My old one was brushed quiet finish. The new one is just loud nylon. Huge step down, very disappointing.
