Overall this is a really good bag. I wish it had an outside zipper pocket up top though for quick grabs like wallet, phone charger, etc.. if I could do it over again I would get a different bag that had quicker access to essentials. Besides that the quality and comfort is exactly what you’d expect from Sitka…top notch!

Needs a few more pockets inside for organizing things. I carry it for my daily bag with my laptop and it works great, just not great for organizing chargers, flash drives, or anything small. As for packing clothes and a few things for an overnight stay, I’d say it’s perfect.

Fantastic. Was able to take laptop, Nalgene bottle, other various electronic accessories, one days worth of clothes to include sweater and light jacket. Additionally, I was able to pack several items to include a stuffed bear and small blanket for my toddler. Highly recommend for traveling with children. Considering using as a diaper bag in future trip due to the side open zipper.

This travel pack fits all my needs. Very easy access to all the compartments and very well thought out compartment organization. Only addition I would like to see is some sort extra pockets in the very top compartment so everything doesn't fall to the bottom in a big heap.

Received this as a gift, hence the lack of verified review here. This is an extremely nice, well-designed backpack for travel. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the design. Love the "clam shell" opening design of the main compartment for clothing. The backpack zips fully open and lies flat, like a suitcase. There's a mesh zippered compartment within that main area to hold clothes in place. I also like the grab handle on the side that allows for carrying the backpack like a suitcase if needed. It has other necessities for a travel pack like a water bottle holder, laptop compartment, and an oversized compartment to store books. The ripstop material also feels bulletproof, so hopefully this thing will hold up a long time. This has become my go-to carry-on bag when flying, and also for shorter overnight trips where a suitcase isn't needed. This is much better for those applications than a regular backpack, due to ease of keeping clothes and accessories organized and in-place. I noticed 2 previous reviews that indicated this can be used as a hunting backpack. I definitely would not recommend this for hunting. The zippers are extremely loud and stiff, and the compartments simply aren't practical for holding most hunting gear. I guess maybe if you're a casual hunter that just sits in a shooting house, you could get by with it, but a regular backpack would be better. Absolutely would not recommend this for anyone that hunts from a tree or from the ground. Overall it's an awesome backpack, and it's what you would expect from Sitka. My only complaint and reason for not giving this a full 5 stars, is that the shoulder straps ride a little wide, so I feel the need to keep the horizontal chest strap fastened while wearing. If that horizontal clip isn't fastened then it feels like the straps are going to slip off my shoulders.

Received this an an anniversary gift, hence the lack of verification for this review. I've seen 2 separate reviews mention using this for hunting. This is not a practical backpack for hunting, school, or really anything other than travel. It is designed to hold clothes, some books, a laptop, water bottle, and a few other odds & ends. The zippers are way too loud to be used in most hunting applications, and again, the design of the pack just isn't practical for hunting. I'm not sure why anyone would use this for hunting, unless they mistakenly bought it for hunting and they're just stubborn. This pack is extremely well-designed with traveling in mind. It will zip open and lie flat, like a suitcase. It has a mesh pocket with zipper in the main compartment to hold clothes. The ripstop material and zippers feel extremely durable, and I expect this pack to hold up forever (It better for the price). It's not some revolutionary backpack that will make travel way easier, and you can certainly find much cheaper alternatives, but it's very nice and I enjoy using it as an overnight bag, or a carry-on when flying. My single complaint is that the shoulder straps seem to naturally ride a little wider than they should if you don't have the horizontal clip connected across the chest. I usually have this connected, but it would be nice to not "have to" connect that clip in order for the pack to ride comfortably.
