A must have for spring turkey season!

Purchased this as a light layer for the warmer days during turkey season and couldn’t be happier with it. The material is very comfortable and lightweight. It’s perfect for 70+ degree hunts. The design of the built in face mask is amazing. It is very functional and stays right where you want it (unlike most face masks that require adjustments throughout your hunt). I now wear this under my heavier jacket just for the face mask. This quickly became my new favorite quarter zip and will definitely be checking out other colors for everyday use!

First SITKA purchase

Picked-up this item because of a recommendation from a friend for a hunting trip in southern Mexico. Lightweight, breathable; even in the middle of the humid jungle, it stayed cool and kept the insects away.

Very comfortable seems to keep the bugs down well in thick woods. Also nice on hot days.

I bought the shirt and pants. I haven’t had a mosquito or tic on me this season. Hands down the best turkey set I’ve ever had.

Works great in hot weather, and with bugs

I just got back from a two week trip to the Galapagos Islands. I wore the shirt every day to protect from the sun. And some days there were lots of insects on the beaches and it was great to be able to pull the covering over my face to keep bugs off. It also dried quickly, which was a big help when I washed the shirt in the morning because it would be dry in the afternoon. I highly recommend it.

The Equinox Guard Hoodie has proven to be a fantastic lightweight top out in the field on wild boar hunts. No issues with insects as the weather warms and the light fabric vents really well.

Such a comfortable hoodie

Got my first ever turkey yesterday at 12 yards wearing this and the pants. Great hoodie and you can roll it up smaller than a can of soda and toss it in your pack.

Well, I was a little leery when I bought this due to it being super thin. Yes, you need to realize it's not an insulated piece of clothing, but as far as turkey hunting, this is my new favorite. I love the fact it has the face mask made into the hood. I pull the face mask up and put the hood on and then top it off with the Sitka boonie hat and it's a win win!

Tick protection

Important protection from tick-borne illness which is more and more common, especially for hunters who spend a lot of time in the outdoors. Usual Sitka fit (narrow) and quality ( great!)

I use mine for early season whitetail and spring turkey to help keep the bugs off. Works well and keeps you nice and cool. I pair it with a core lightweight long sleeve and an ambient jacket for those colder morning hunts looking for turkeys in the mountains. Highly recommend!

Guard Hoodie

The hoodie is great for the turkey season in the Midwest. It is breathable and fits well. Makes those days when the temperature rises tolerable.

I got the green .. it matches most all of my other Sitka patterns hunted both Indiana & Kentucky turkey seasons .. no ticks .. I feel more comfortable in a xl in all my other lightweight hoodies .. but I could have used a large in this one .. xl is really big

Wore this hoody for the first time coyote hunting this eve.It’s was 75 degrees and mosquitoes were out thick. Had no bites through the hoody. However they wore my hands out so I will be getting some of the gloves as well. I never got hot in this hoody and could feel the breeze coming through.the mask and hood worked great too. I ordered a size smaller than what I normally wear and the fit is good.

I’ve been wanting a little more protection in the turkey woods. The fit is great and it is comfortable. Quality looks awesome.

Guard hoody sleeves do not fit

The sleeves have over 8” of material more than any other shirt or hoody I own from Sitka. Every other item has 25” sleeves and the sleeves on the guard hoodie are over 30” per side. It’s unwearable. I sent it back to Sitka, who admitted mine is longer than it should be and I was still sent back the same shirt with no replacement. It doesn’t fit. I will have to have almost 16” of sleeve cut off and altered to make this even remotely wearable. I’m very unhappy with the fit of this shirt and customer service or lack thereof by Sitka.

Lightweight and addition of chest pocket is perfect. Will be a main stay for turkey seasons. A tad looser fitting then I prefer but thats just a personal opinion.

Great fit and great protection against insects, same great quality and look as Sitka always has. I bought this after going through Lyme disease last year and now walking the wood more confident and comfortable. A+++ on this item

Best hoodie shirt for the woods.

My favorite hooded shirt, I had a spot of melanoma removed from my ear. This hoodie provides the best protection I’ve found yet. The hood fits snug so it stays in the wind, I bought one for sailing, and one for hiking. The bug guard is great, my ex, and a friend both have Lyme disease, this protects from tics, mosquitoes, chiggers, flies, and other bugs. The order control is great for multi-day through hikes.
