Second Sitka Equinox vest purchased

Did my first one have a problem? Get stolen or lost? No. I literally bought a second vest for one main reason…it is just about perfect for me. After 35 years of chasing these birds I have learned that if you find something you really love, especially when it comes to turkey hunting, buy 2 before it is changed or discontinued. That is how highly I regard this vest. Getting a new one in the cover pattern was an added bonus! How would I improve it? I added a tiny carabiner on the left adjustment strap near my shoulder that I clip a ventilated mouth call case and lanyard to. I use the mouth call spots inside the pot call case to hold sandpaper and scotchbrite pads. That is about it. The adjustability is top notch, the construction is top notch, the layout is top notch. Love it!

It fits well and it’s lightweight. Plenty of adjustment for sizing. I haven’t had it long enough to see how durable it is but I typically see most Sitka products being durable and this feels like it will be too.

Best run and gun vest available

This vest is lightweight with room to carry all the essentials. I love the way the seat deploys and stows quickly and easily, but sturdy and secure with straps. The pocket for hydration bladder is a nice touch that I do use. The storage is well thought out and the box call pocket holds a box snug and quiet where other vests fail. Adjustability to fit your body is superb so you’re not left with a ton of leftover material if you are smaller, but plenty of webbing for a big guy.

Great vest

I’m 5’8 @ 135lbs and this vest fits perfectly. Great material, light, firm cushioned seat pad, easy adjustability and looks great. Each pocket was sized perfectly to fit all of my calls just snug not too tight.

Run and gun vest missing some features.

I really like this vest for fast run&gun turkey hunting but I found a few areas that could use improvements. First the backpack could be a bit larger for stowing things like a puffy jacket, food bag and any extra layers. Where I hunt it can be 30deg before dawn and 55deg by 10am which means I will need a few layers to stay warm while stalking and sitting for turkeys. Next the attachment system for carrying out a bird once harvested sucks, I shot two birds back to back about 4 miles away from my truck and it was not fun trying to secure one and hand carry the other. Lastly I’d love to see the seat pad secured with a magnet instead of pull straps, magnets are quit and fast. Overall I enjoy this vest and will continue to use it although modifications may need to be made for it to work better for me.

Fits great, love all the pockets. The cushion could be a little better. It got pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly compared to some other vests I’ve used in the past.

Sitka Equinox Turkey Vest

I bought this at the end of the season to replace my back pack and fanny pack that I use so I have not got to use it in the field. Quality is great, plenty of storage for all my turkey hunting gear/gadgets. I manly run and gun, but I also like to sit in known turkey hot spots. I feel like this product will do well in both.

I just upgraded this season and I must say it’s the best vest I’ve ever owned. It is small and compact yet more than enough room to hold everything I need! I don’t use a box call so the box call holder holds a water bottle perfectly.
