Description

The Grindstone Chore Coat takes a timeless work jacket to the next level with a reinforced canvas fabric, wind-blocking WINDSTOPPER^® technology, and plenty of stretch to ensure every job gets done right. The rugged canvas fabric is beefed up with Cordura^® so you can put it through the wringer year after year, and it’s infused with stretch to help you saw, chop, or swing a shotgun without restriction. It’s backed by windproof, breathable, and water-resistant tech that lets you keep hammering away, regardless of the weather. When the work never stops, this is the coat that keeps going.

Super functional and durable as advertised. Runs big, but in the sense that you can layer up underneath and still move around comfortably. I found no need to size down from my usual Sitka size L.

Cover

For hunting whitetail in dense green vegetation

Elevated II

Keeps whitetail hunters undetectable in sparse canopy

Optifade Elevated II is the ultimate whitetail pattern for treestand hunters in the mid to late season. Developed with top ungulate researchers from the University of Georgia, Elevated II uses a proprietary geometry and color palette based on how deer see the world. This pattern keeps the hunter imperceptible from deer viewing them from below against a background of sparse foliage and bright sky, making Elevated II the ideal camouflage for hunters once the leaves begin to fall.

Open Country

For hunting ungulates in rocky terrain and open prairies

This first-of-its-kind pattern was developed to fool the eyesight of mountain-dwelling ungulates above the tree line in the unforgiving landscapes those animals call home. The larger neutral areas within this pattern are critical to obscuring detection in more open environments where cover is scarce. Use this pattern in the high alpine chasing rams and mountain goats or on hunts for mule deer and antelope on the open plains or rocky desert.

Optifade Subalpine is our most versatile pattern for spot and stalk hunting in vegetated terrain. Designed to support big game hunters in the intermountain Rockies, this pattern is supremely adaptable to myriad environments across North America. It works equally well in the shadows of the dark timber chasing elk, in scrub brush and grassy flats pursuing mule deer, and has a proven track record as a turkey kit in the western U.S. If your hunt will be spot and stalk within the tree line, Subalpine is your pattern.

Marsh

For hunting waterfowl in marshes and crop fields

Optifade Marsh is purpose-built for layout and blind hunters across all flyways. It utilizes a swirling color palette to exploit the vision of birds circling high above and keep the hunter concealed in standing crops, stubble fields, grassy wetlands and marshes. This supremely adaptable pattern can take the duck hunter from early Teal season in Florida or Texas all the way through the frozen field hunts for Canada geese in the Midwest or front range.

Timber

For hunting waterfowl in flooded timber and buckbrush

Optifade Timber is the perfect tool for the ever-changing landscape encountered by the dedicated flooded timber duck hunter. This pattern was created to use the reflection of the sky and canopy from the water’s surface to conceal the hunter from view of working birds. It also uses a darker toned shadow layer to keep the hunter hidden when tucked into a tree as birds descend into the hole. Optifade Timber is most effective in the Central and Mississippi flyways but will prove valuable to any duck hunter in dark environments, including sea duck hunters along rocky coastlines.
