Awesome Jacket

Just got back from North Dakota and we had some terrible/nasty weather that tested the Hudson Jacket and old Mother Nature lost the battle to Sitka, driving rain, snow, and wind were no match for this coat. The best duck coat I have owned. If you want a coat that will let you hunt in the worst weather choose the Hudson.

Today was duck opener in pa and had 3 hrs of heavy rain fall, I was warm and completely dry. Best jacket I ever purchased.

Favorite Jacket

I wore this jacket for six days on Kodiak Island through daily rain and/or snow. Stayed completely dry and warm the whole trip. I highly recommend it!

Owner of 50+ sitka products, this may be my favorite.

As a guide I am in the thickest of the thick, all over the country. I follow the migration from Alaska to Texas, and then up to Kentucky and Indiana. I hunt over 100 days a year, and when it gets cold and wet, this is the jacket I am wearing. I even wear this doing things other than duck hunting, like guiding on glacial treks and canoe trips in South East Alaska. This jacket is extremely durable and waterproof. That being said other jackets are durable and waterproof, what sets the Hudson apart is the incredible attention to details that Sitka designed into it. The first is the actual design of the jacket. I wear a large in it. When it gets very cold I layer a duck oven underneath it and I can hunt in any condition. I sat a goose spread last year with a -32 windchill and was the only hunter who stayed warm with this layered system. The hood, zippers, and overall feel of the jackets are incredible. The pockets are my favorite part though. This coat is littered with pockets, which if you are a serious waterfowler you know make or break gear. Pit pockets for keeping the hands warm while wearing waders, shell pockets for holding extra ammo, multiple breast pockets for calls and phones. I cannot stress how much I love this coat. If you are a water fowler and are going to buy a jacket, buy this one.

Great jacket

I bought a redhead coat from bass pro shop for like $200 and I was riding my dirtbike and I took the coat off and tied it to the handle bars bc I was to hot and it melted the coat so I figured I’d buy a new one and everyone said to get one of these and they are the best ever

So close to perfect

Almost the perfect waterfowl jacket with one major downside. The jacket all together is wonderful. It has all the features and is well thought out except for one part that ruins it. The "upper hand warmer" pocket is not warm in any way at all. It is ridiculously bad. Why in the world would an insulated waterproof jacket for cold weather have supposed hand warming pockets with absolutely no insulation. It also should have a zipper to pass through the pocket into your waders. I honestly do not wear the jacket often because of the pockets. I hate that the jacket has everything right but is ruined by the pockets.

Needed a jacket to stay

Needed a jacket to stay warm and dry during the season in Colorado. This jacket was the key. Stayed dry in the pits when the heaters where going and even when it was -19 stayed warm . Zero complaints and will never use another jacket!!

This is the workhouse of

This is the workhouse of the waterfowl system. The finest most functional, durable, dry and above all a great fit. If you buy just one Sitka waterfowl item get the Hudson. And best of all the women’s line is out. My wife loves her Hudson. I can’t believe that I waited as long as I did to get one.

The Hudson is the workhorse of the waterfowl system. This is the finest waterfowl all around jacket! I size up since I’m hunting the Bay of Green Bay until ice up. If you want a dry, functional, durable and loaded with features jacket this is it hands down. Now it’s even available for women. My wife can’t believe how great this jacket is as well. If you are just starting out and buy one Sitka waterfowl item this is the one. Hands down.

Finally found and settled at

Finally found and settled at the ultimate hunting jacket. This is well though out masterpiece, perfect for layering and on its own. I am 6’3” 210lbs 32-34 waist and LT fits perfect. If you are above 6 feet, always get the tall size in jacket no matter how tempting it is unless you want to look like a bag of potatoes and wishing for that extra arm length :)

Possibly the best jacket that

Possibly the best jacket that I have ever bought in my life! Durability should not be an issue with this jacket as it feels like it was made to last a lifetime. The water tight wrist cuffs and the incorporated duck call lanyards are awesome extras that make this jacket a home run. I first broke it in on a trip to Michigan a couple weeks ago and didn't feel any of the blustering wind or get soaked during a massive snowball fight. Although it is a bit pricey, it is worth every penny! I bought the Hudson bibs shortly after because I was so impressed with the fit and functionality of this jacket. Together both of them kept me dry during a severe thunderstorm that I used to test the jacket and bibs are 100% waterproof, spoiler alert... they are!!

Great jacket. I hunt from a sneakbox and this jacket is the best I have owned. Not restrictive at all. First day I hunted with jacket, 25kt winds on the bay, Warm, dry, no water or wind Highly recommend.

I have never been more

I have never been more impressed by an article of clothing! I sat from 4:00 in the morning to 4:00 at night goose hunting in the pouring rain and I didn't get wet! Sitka gear is no joke! After that hunt I will forever purchase sitka! If your thinking about buying it, do it! You wont regret it!

Just received this jacket, I

Just received this jacket, I am excited to try it out. Well thought out pocket placement, love the wind stop technology. Love the game caller system.

The jacket arrived right before

The jacket arrived right before this cold artic blast and all I can say is WOW! This jacket stop the wind & keeps out the cold. This along with the Dakota vest will keep you comfortable in some down right cold conditions and allow you to spend more time in the marsh.

Awesome jacket! 15 degree with

Awesome jacket! 15 degree with negative windchill this past weekend kept me warm on the 20 minute boat ride to the hole!!! Very impressive felt no wind at all and the waterproof hand cuffs work excellent as well. Very happy with my purchase!

It’s nice to have a

It’s nice to have a jacket that doesn’t choke your arm pits when you are reaching or raising to shoot. It’s pretty warm as a stand alone but works best if you have another layer under it.

Within a week of owning

Within a week of owning this jacket I have saltwater fished, duck hunted, and deer hunted in West Texas. The fit of the jacket is excellent and it is 100% water and wind proof. It has proven itself as an all around great jacket. The pockets are well placed, large in size, and functional. It is hard to find a product that performs well in all environments but this one is the ticket.

I took this jacket up

I took this jacket up to South Dakota for a pheasant hunt in early December - our first hunt was in the 10-15 degree range with some wind and this jacket kept me very comfortable. It is very thoughtfully designed, with nice range of motion in the arms / shoulders for shooting, cinchable, neoprene wrists, and great pocket design/placement. I previously was using a shell with a zip in puffy liner, and this jacket is much thinner but equally/more warm. Worth the investment.

This jacket is hands down

This jacket is hands down the best piece of clothing I have ever purchased for hunting. The first time I wore it was in northern Maine on a sea duck hunt. It kept me dry and cut the wind on the boat rides to and from the spot. I will be getting the Hudson bibs to make the set. Worth every penny

If you hunt primarily with

If you hunt primarily with waders I don’t recommend this jacket, with the insulation and shell all it one, it’s a lot to tuck into your waders and you lose the waterproofing over your waders by doing this. If you wear it outside your waders and wade too deep the insulation in the jacket gets soaked. The jacket is much longer than my DWJ and for wader hunting I would recommend the DWJ over your waders with a duck oven underneath it feels equivalent in warmth to this jacket. Otherwise this is a great jacket if you’re field hunting!

So nice to finally have a waterproof jacket! Absolutely amazing product and worth every penny. Comfort is something I have grown fond of over the years and Sitka has mastered that department!

My main shell during extreme

My main shell during extreme cold weather with layers underneath (grinder hoodie, kelvin aero lite jacket, Fahrenheit vest), or in the rain by itself. Have hunted in it around 100 times and is in great condition.

This jacket is bombproof. I have worn this through some pretty nasty weather and was comfortable the whole time. If you are looking for a duck jacket to get you through the whole season, look no further.

The Hudson jacket was the first piece of Sitka gear that I purchased several years ago. It has been head above shoulders, the best hunting jacket I've ever owned.

So good, I had to

So good, I had to get 2 - one in Marsh and one in Timber. Everyone in the duck club has a Delta Wading Jacket and now they have a Hudson too to cover all season. Best gear for duck hunting hands down. I've used Hudson (and Delta Wading Jacket) from Alberta, CA to Stuttgart, AK to South Louisiana.

Would rate higher because I

Would rate higher because I love the fit design of coat. Unfortunately worst zipper design on the market. Design and durability is ok but functionality of lining up and zipping is marginal at best. Bought for duck season last year and own many Sitka products. Like most avid hunters, we don’t mind spending for quality. This zipper system needs to be redesigned.

Bought this jacket a few

Bought this jacket a few days ago, (its July) but extremely comfortable, and very good range of motion when raising up my shotgun. I have a dakota vest I tried on under it and it feels amazing. Cant wait to use this in the field. Stood in the shower with it and i was simply amazed. Great product, worth every penny!

Great quality as expected from

Great quality as expected from Sitka. 5'10' at 185-190 pounds and a size large is perfect with room to layer. I have a Gradient jacket (large) to pair with this for mid-season, and a Duck Oven (large) for late season. As a matter of fact, the Gradient fits well under the Duck Oven and both will fit under the large Hudson for late goose season. Couldn't be happier with the system.

Haven't tested it in the

Haven't tested it in the weather yet considering I got it today but this is top notch stuff. It's very well made and it fits awesome. It pairs perfect with my light weight base layer and gradient hoody. Best thing is the slimness of the stuff but how warm it keeps you. It is not bulky at all and doesn't restrict movement. Took me a year to finally buy it because of the price but I will say I'll be buying a lot more.

I love the jacket! Bought

I love the jacket! Bought it in store after looking at multiple other ones. It does not get very cold where I hunt so I can usually just wear this and my Gradient Hoody and be just fine. The only problem I have found is after about a year it started to absorb water so I had to reactivate the DWR which was not a hard thing to do, so overall it is a great jacket.

Great jacket that most definitely

Great jacket that most definitely will not disappoint. I had been on the fence about Sitka for a long time, but glad I tipped the scale. 6’2” - 215lbs, originally ordered a large in this jacket and was a little tight through the shoulders so exchanged for a large tall. Fits great.

Hands down… the best jacket

Hands down… the best jacket I’ve ever owned. I’m 6’1”, 225, so I ordered the XLT and it fits perfect. I have hunted in temperatures ranging from 40°F to -10°F and this jacket does it all. We put it to the ultimate test last year in southern Louisiana during hurricane Beta. It rained sideways on us for two days, but this jacket kept me dry as a bone. Several of the other guys had other brands that kept them dry for a few hours, but nothing stood up to my Hudson Jacket. I hunt mostly in fields so the marsh pattern is perfect for me, but I went ahead and got the timber pattern too just in case.

I would give it 5

I would give it 5 stars but this clothing line runs small compared to others like Drake. I have a Hudson jacket in XL and can not fit anything under it to layer. On my XL Drake I could layer several items with no issues.

I used to eye ball

I used to eye ball this jacket and never dream of owning it due to the price. I ended up getting it and cannot imagine hunting in any other piece of outerwear. It will keep you bone dry on the soakers and plenty warm as is or with proper layers. Well done Sitka.

I should’ve bought it sooner.

I should’ve bought it sooner. For me hunting mid/North Missouri ducks this is the most versatile jacket a duck hunter can have, and needs. Durable and waterproof with well thought out pockets, just enough insulation to still be “cool” enough to wear it early season with minimal layers, but still warm enough to still be used in single digit temps comfortably when used with the Fahrenheit jacket as well. I love the stretch panels on the shoulders that allow full movement when shooting and holy cow... the hood! Best hood I’ve ever seen on a waterfowl jacket, fits your head nicely and keeps you dry but doesn’t have too much material that is baggy and limits vision.

Fit is great, wide enough

Fit is great, wide enough at the bottom to fit over waders on those rainy and snowy days on the Chesapeake, but also narrow enough to tuck inside. 46 inch chest, 38 inch waist, 18 inch biceps. The quilting inside doesn't make it bulky either. Side pockets are lined to protect the Gore-Tex, handwarmer pockets are not to high either.
