I habe the old style hacket but I ripped it on a double black diamond skiing in MT. Loved that jacket!! This one seems more water resistant but the material is stiffer and noisier. Hopefully it breaks in otherwise go back to the laat version plz!! XL tall fits perfect. 210 lbs 6’2 athletic build.

I thought I would upgrade with the Sitka jet stream jacket but going back to the fleet farm special. The jet stream is built well but useless for windy, cold (even slightly cold) weather. In Wisconsin I can use this jacket maybe a week during hunting season. But hey it looks good.

I’m 6'7" and got the biggest size they make. It actually fit better than I expected. Felt right at first, which doesn’t happen often for me. After moving around a bit though, I could tell it was a little short overall, and while the sleeves are long for most people, they were still a bit short for me. All the performance features that made me buy it were there and seemed legit. It feels like a well-made parka shell, the kind you’d use for backcountry skiing. If this jacket was offered in a Tall, that extra length would have made it perfect for me. Just didn’t quite fit right as is, but I’d still recommend it if the sizing works for you.

I wanted to like this jacket so much. I’ve owned every version of the Jetstream Sitka has come out with and they always perform so well. But this iteration is a major step backward from a hunting standpoint. The size and fit was great. They also brought back the double chest pockets which is a win. The zippers are the best zipper on any Jetstream jacket thus far. And the zipper pulls on this version are a nice touch as well. The issue is the noise. This is hands down the noisy jacket I’ve ever purchased. I knew the minute I put it on that I was going to have to return it. The crinkly sounds from the jacket’s new reinforced sections are so loud that it can only be described as opening up a big bag of chips every time you move your arms. Even my wife who is not a hunter said that she could hear me moving from across the house. There’s no way I could ever hunt in this jacket which is a shame because everything else about it is so good. I am shocked they would release a hunting jacket that’s this noisy. A swing and a miss in this one.

I absolutely love Sitka gear. However, the new Jetstream feels much stiffer and is most definitely louder and crinkly sounding when you move your arms. The membrane is noisy and is not as nice as the old Jetstream.
