Barklow and the whole Sitka team have created a fantastic system based solution with this bag. It’s light, it’s compressible, it’s synthetic (bombproof performance), and it’s extremely versatile for a wide range of temps when used as suggested as part of the system. The first reviewer doesn’t ‘get it’! This bag is meant to function with your clothing system so you don’t have to have a -(30) degree bag that is heavy… you use the puffy to augment the bag since you’ll need your puffy as an integral part of your system — why don’t people pay attention to the functionality and design?!

Improvements I think could be made in offering this in some sort of camo. Black is the worst color for blending in especially if using for a glassing or from a tree stand. Additionally 30 deg isn’t bad when used with clothes under bag but a slightly lower rating could improve its versatility. Camo offering being number one Improvement.

This sleeping bag is an impressive piece of gear, but it's definitely more of a technical item. By swapping out my puffy jacket and pants for this bag, I've managed to shave off 2 to 3 pounds from my pack on overnight trips. It's so lightweight and packable that I even bring it along on day hunts. I use it as part of my layering system and have stayed comfortable in temperatures as low as 28°F. The only downside is the lack of a readily available GORE-TEX shell. Fortunately, I have a GORE-TEX bivy/poncho that fits perfectly with this bag, but since it's no longer in production, others might struggle with protection on wet or snowy days.

I bought these pants on clearance at the fleet farm but after further inspection, I found that there were no leg holes and even more that it was a sleeping bag, much to my disappointment. I did find a use for these eventually. They work great for hiking if you zip up the bottom, though the arms make it hard to balance.

Very warm and versatile bag. I love the features of the bag as far as the arm holes and being able to clip the foot box portion to the inside. The hood works great for keep you warm or to nest your pillow in. I have used the bag on a few 40° nights on a sleeping pad and was very comfortable. I purchased the tall /xl bag fits great even with boots or shoes on. Cleans up very easy. Definitely recommend this bag.

It is well constructed and very roomy for when you need to add layers to go into colder temps. I appreciate the arm holes and the ability to walk in it. I have not used it for glassing yet, but i can see that this is a great way to make use of the features of the bag.

I bought this sleeping bag for bivy hunting for elk and overnight backpacking trips. So far I’ve only tested the Aerolite 30 sleeping bag once for a quick public land turkey hunt and I was not disappointed. The temps went down to about 28 degrees F at night and I only had boxers and a light base layer on and was toasty warm all night. The hardest part about back country trips when waking up at 3:45am at 28 degrees is getting out of your sleeping bag into the cold. This bag solves that issue. I was able to wear the sleeping bag while putting on my pants and hunting clothing, made coffee and breakfast with the bag still on until I got warmed up and ready to go. I can honestly say that this bag will allow me to get up and moving without the hesitation(and maybe eliminate hitting snooze)that comes with slipping out of the bag and immediately into the cold. This adds minutes to valuable hunting time each day, which is about as much pay back from gear as you can ask for.

I’m a firm believer in quality sleep, to a fault! Ask my hunting partners and they will 100% agree. This bag is a gateway to mountain comfort. Function was clearly at the forefront of this sleeping system. Starting with the arm holes, being able to stoke our fire at 2 am quickly and efficiently and keeping core temps up is incredibly vital to rest. Shoulder space and a real hood to keep your head attached to a packable pillow. My last favorite feature is the foot box. I place my next day’s clothes at the bottom of the bag most late season nights. This bag allows me that comfort and some extra wiggle space.

I was wondering if you would be able to unzip the arm holes from the inside and yes you can. I am 6’ tall with big feet so I bought the long bag to get my feet more room and it fits me perfectly. Very comfortable, very warm, very light. I am happy to have bought this bag. I have struggled to find a good sleeping bag for elk hunting in September and this bag is going to work for me for many years to come.

I had been looking for a new sleeping bag to use for backcountry hunting in Montana and found several positive reviews about this one online. I have the Kelvin Aerolite Vest and I really like it so I decided to order this sleeping bag. I haven’t had a chance to use it in the field yet but it seems to be a really well made bag. I really like that it has arm holes and I think that’ll be a nice feature to have around camp. I’m 6’2” and ordered the “long” size. As others have said, if you are 6’ or taller you’ll definitely want the long.

Excellent build quality , light weight , compressible. Innovative design and very practical application. Synthetic material is nice for holding heat in wet conditions. Purchased on sale , worth every penny at that price. Fit me perfectly 5 ‘ 11” -205 lbs (long size). I would not recommend for anyone much larger than myself as it could feel abit restricted. Got this bag for a MO bowhunting trip in November. Temps were in the 20's and 30's at night in my tent. I slept in my heavyweight bottoms and fanatic hoody on the coolest nights. My feet would get a little cold at times but were fine elsewise. The bag is super lightweight and packs down small. When fully zipped the bag didn't allow for much leg and arm movement but I am taller and was just fine if it was unzipped slightly. If needing to use in colder temps I would bring an additional blanket. Would reccomend to others looking for a nice low bulk sleeping bag!

I found this sleeping bag extremely comfortable and very warm, at times a little too warm while sleeping in about 50 degrees with a light shirt and sweatpants. I did find myself a little claustrophobic the first night as I had other bag zipped up fully. I am 6’ 1” and 225 pounds, I did find the bag was a little smaller in the shoulder area the I would have preferred. I bought the long fit sleeping bag just to ensure plenty of leg room. The 2nd night, I had on a long sleeved shirt, unzipped the arm holes and found the nights sleep much more comfortable. I would recommend a smaller stuff sack than what the sleeping bag comes with. I am very happy with this purchase.
