Perfect Vest
Really been looking at vests for a long time, wanted something to be able to layer and be able to add warmth w/o all the bulk in the arms when doing archery, or even bouncing around the mountain during rifle season. I'm addicted to the timber pattern for deer hunting. I often pair it with Kuiu Valo and it's the perfect compliment of micro and more macro type paterns that still work so well together when spot and stalk and ground blind hunting. I put it runs a little small because the arm holes are snug, but I'm kinda chesty and I suspect that's how it's suppose to be to keep heat in.

I ordered this vest online
I ordered this vest online and have not yet used it in the field but I was disappointed when it arrived. The vest fits fine and it appears to be of high quality construction but the amount of insulating material is really minimal. Perhaps it will prove to be warmer than expected when I use it in the field but when I compare it to other vests I own my impression is that it would be a good layer of clothing to add a small amount of warmth when you are being active outdoors but not adequate to provide noticeable insulation when you are sedentary. This product made me wish that clothing was labeled with a thermal resistance or R value so that you would know what you are getting when you make an online purchase. I also found myself thinking "Wow the profit margin must be huge when a company sells clothing that contains such a small amount of material (and partially recycled material at that) for such a high price. "

sizing is WAY off. . .
Love this vest itself: another great product by Sitka! But the sizing is so off compared to other pieces I have. The L was super tight and no room for movement, while the XL was HUGE and you were swimming in it, along with the length looking more like a trench coat. I'm not sure how the sizing got so off on this item, but something just isn't right with how they designed this build for this vest. I was bummed out and had to return.
