I recently purchased this item ,so to early to know if it will keep me warm, I'm hoping it will work during my January couse deer hunt in southern New Mexico . I plan to use it as a part of my layering system.

Just got it

Hard to know how it performs as I got it in the late spring. I’ve worn it to a few chilly baseball games so far (black looks pretty classy for most functions!). It is pretty thin but knocks the wind down well. I really like the aerolite jacket so this vest comes with high expectations.

This is an outstanding warm but lightweight layer. It is easy to pack for quick addition or subtraction from your kit. It is so versatile I own two, one for my duck hunting setup and another dedicated to deer, hog, and turkey hunting. Get one. You won’t regret it.

Kelvin Aerolite Vest

After falling in love with my Sitka Kelvin Aerolite Jacket I figured I had to try out the vest. As expected, it is a great addition to my gear. Love it!

Punches well above its weight

Quickly becoming my preferred vest. As warm as a down vest with less worry for moisture. Got another solid for everyday wear I love it so much.

First vest I am happy with

I typically do not like vests, shoulder cuts are always weird or they don’t seem to provide much warmth. This vest is well thought out. The cut off sections have an elastic material which allows free arm movement but allows a seal around base garments, trapping more heat. The windstopper works super well and I’ve been testing it outside in the 20+ mph gusts in 35 degree weather as an outer layer. As a mid layer it works super well for static sits (the main reason I bought it) under a soft shell. I really like how compressible/pack able it is. It can go right into my pack and it’s easy on after climbing a tree. It’s multipurpose and I am definitely happy it’s in my outerwear arsenal. I can’t wait to use it for white tail season.

A little tight

I wear a L in everything except the Thunderhead series to go over everything else. I’m 5’10” 175, but the L in this vest was a little too tight for my liking. I marked it true to size as it fits, but I wanted a little more room for a midlayer under it.

Warm and Light

Great fitting and great looking. Size large was perfect for 5’9” 185lb frame. A lot of warmth for how thin and light it is. Packs down very well for travel or hiking in. The back hem is a little longer for better coverage when bending or sitting. Works well as an outer vest in milder weather or a thin warming layer under a shell in very cold or foul weather.
