Received one as a gift this past holiday season. Perfect for a base layer under your shell in colder temps - my only complaint is the extreme pilling nature of the fabric. It’s horrible. The fabric has pilled up at the end of the arms and lower abdomen area. Basically any area that receives a lot of friction expect the fabric to behave in that manner.
Picked up the new version of the midweight zip in open country and its definitely an upgrade from the previous model. Better material and sizing is perfect. I have a MT and couldnt be happier with fit. I layer this over fanatic hoody for warmth or casual wear around the house.
I grabbed this for "Gray Season" at Reelfoot. The low in the was 30's & high was around 63; I wore this with a F*lson wool vest & my Sitka Delta wading jacket. By 10 am I had shed everything but the shirt. This shirt was the perfect choice for layering!
Call it coincidence, call it science. All I know is that when I bought my Sitka camo set the very first day I went out into the woods I had the best hunt of my life. I shot my biggest whitetail yet. The core midweight zip tee is quiet, light yet warm, and does an awesome job at keeping your sweat off of you. I had deer so close I was debating on dropping the bow and spearing them with arrows. This camo will change your hunting experience.
This is a great piece as the temps drop. I can wear it early season here in WI then add my DWJ or DO over the top if there is rain or cold temps moving in. 5'10 165 and a large fits me perfect.
Great shirt. I have some of the older versions (2018 and older) of this shirt and the new 2019 version. All are nice. The 2019 version seems to not be as "heavy" as the other two I have. And also I feel like the back hem is not as long as previous versions. I actually prefer the back hem not being as long so the 2019 version is great. It would be great if they offered more solid colors like Dirt.
The Core Mid Weight Zip-T has been one of my favorite pieces of gear. I live in Arizona where this comes in handy for those brisk mornings but can be easily removed and packs down small. If you are in the south west you have to get your hands on the mid weight!

Knocking on Doors
Gaining access to private land can be an intimidating hurdle for most hunters, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, knowing how to ask permission can be a hunter’s secret weapon, especially when it comes to accessing public land drainages only reachable via private land or, even, opening up a door to private land access for years to come.

I wear this quarter zip on nearly ever hunt. Perfect for early season and as one of your layers as it starts to get cooler. I love the thumb loops when using as a base layer keeps sleeves in place. I have several patterns, wear it for waterfowl and all big game I hunt. I am 5' 8" about 185 , extra large fits me good, not too loose and gives me a little better freedom to move without binding.
I love this 1/4 zip so much. I have it in Subalpine and Pyrite. My only wish is that it came in more solids. I wear my Pyrite one all the time for work in the fall/winter and would welcome more colors.

Large- Fits very well
Temp Range Comfortable- 40s-70s (Nobody is comfortable above 80 degrees outside)
Excellent early season base layer. The zipper is a nice touch that lets you air out when it gets warm though I never used the chest pocket.
No wear or damage after heavy use.
First let me say I have a closet full of Sitka Gear that I'm extremely happy with. In fact, the Core Lighweight Hoody is my favorite Sitka piece and is why I purchased the Core Midweight - I was looking for a slightly warmer base layer. I'm 6'1", 185 and the LT fits perfectly. I wore the shirt on ONE day archery hunting this year and there is a ridiculous amount of pilling on the sleeves and somehow a small hole right along the cuff line- the amount of wear the piece shows after one day of use is unacceptable in my opinion. I will continue to wear this piece because it fits well and it performs excellently as a baselayer but I have no delusions about needing to replace it after one season of use.
