The pack is light. The zippers are pretty nice. I'm tall and skinny. The pack fits well. I only had about 18 pounds in it. But I'm t carried it well.

I have the 6000 but needed a mid size pack. This is perfect.

Great pack

A little noisy for stalking, but great fabric for durability and comfort as well as expected Sitka quality.

Go bigger

I bought this for an elk hunt and although the pack was tough, and had plenty of space, I would recommend going bigger because it just wasn't big enough for carrying gear and big game.

Replaced an earlier model Sitka Ascent 14 yoke style hunting pack with this pack. Much user friendly design. Gear just gets better & better!

I have loved the pack

I have loved the pack so far only used it for one elk season in Arizona. Only thing I would loved to see changed is just a little longer outside pouch so you can fit a tripod and a glassing chair easily. The pack handles weight well and has been great for packing out meat.

Great pack

Used this pack on our elk hunt. It worked well. Was comfortable to wear while hiking. I would recommend this pack for sure.

While the pack wasn’t what I needed (too small) there is no doubt it was built to last and perform.

This is a great day pack/all around pack. 1) tough as nails construction. 2) well thought compartments. Easy access to gear without rummaging into main compartment. Plenty of space for rainwear, kill kit, and general survival on outside compartments. Items such as grunt call, lights and gloves easily fit in top easy access compartment. This leaves plenty of space in main compartment. I packnplentybof fluids and a mean lunch!

So far it is good

I can't wait to try it out next fall - fist inspection is that it is very well made - will do a full review after next hunting season

Great Pack

I have used this pack chasing Elk out West and Moose in Alaska and love it. Both of these hunts have been with rifle but I have mounted my bow on the back for testing. My favorite part of the pack are the two verticle sections on the back which makes it easy to access rain gear and my spotting scope. This pack helps keep me from over packing and just seems to fit my needs for day hikes. Note I am usually with a guide and at camp they have had frame camps so I would not attempt to pack an elk or moose out with this. Big fan I actually have a second one in case this becomes unavailable.

Mountain 2700 pack

The pack is sturdy, comfortable and the pocket designs are good with room for large binos and a spotter. The material is a little loud though. No tripod pocket, no way of incorporating rifle/bow carrying with it and no meat shelf however hurt its overall usability. Perhaps offer some attachments for those items?

When it gets cold this bag is very loud. Could use 2 more compartments. What I like is it is very light.

A do everything pack

I bought mine a year ago and pretty well use it for everything. I like the design which has compartments for a spotting scope and a tripod. It's big enough to pack out a boned out deer sized animal. It's comfortable and durable. I also use it for my carry-on for airline flights. It's the perfect size for most of my needs.

It’s a great pack used

Extremely comfortable and easy to

Extremely comfortable and easy to clean. Quick to dry too. Has enough room to do a multi-day hike if you pack well. I retired my Arcteryx backpack of the same size for this. I have no doubt this will be my new favortie for years to come.

This pack is an awesome

This pack is an awesome day pack for 2/ day trip pack. I'm able to pack food, water, rain gear, warming layers, extra batteries, lights, jet boil, game bags, skinning kit, and other essential items to get me through my hunts, plus tri pod, weapon, and spotting scope. Very comfortable and breathable. Oh I've even packed mineral and protein blocks in this thing. Planning on getting the bigger one for elk hunts, because they are so awesome.

I had a similar backpack

I had a similar backpack from a competitor and returned it quickly, as it was too heavy and its external frame was undesirable. The Mountain 2700 is super awesome and is the best backpack that I have owned! It’s truly a superior, high quality product! It’s very comfortable, lightweight, and the internal frame supports heavy loads easily. I use it for three-day backpacking hunts where weight is a huge factor.

Took this baby on a

Took this baby on a Colorado hunt 2 weeks ago and did great full of gear! But also took this bad boy on top of Mount Sherman during yesterday's hike full of my gear, bladder, foam seat pads and the fam's extra food and gear with med kits! 14,036 ft in elevation sir! Well made pack! Thanks Sitka!!!!

I have not used this

I have not used this pack yet but the functionality appears to be nice. The reason for the low rating is the appearance from the moment I looked at it. The heavier material that is used in the high contact areas is a completely different color than the main shell. Appearance of the product makes it look like a misprint or something that should be sold as a factory defect.

I’ve put this pack through

I’ve put this pack through pure hell. I know it’s designed as a “day pack” but it can be much more. I’ve packed out an antelope and 2 whitetails this season alone while over 2 miles from the truck, while only making 1 trip each time. Nothing has ripped and the zippers have held up. Didn’t think I’d ever write a review on anything ...but I’m pretty impressed to say the least.

Great day pack, and possibly

Great day pack, and possibly an overnight. I used the pack on a Northwoods Maine hunting trip and was able to carry multiple layers, rain gear and equipment for a full day hunt almost 20 miles. It’s durable and comfortable.
