I love this pack. Works great and lightweight.

Haven’t Used it for hunting

Haven’t Used it for hunting yet as I bought it out of season. I have however loaded it up and wear is as much as possible on hikes etc. It o break it in and get a good feel for it. Sits really well, doesn’t sag and I don’t feel like I need micro breaks when I use it. I think it’ll be absolutely perfect for whitetail hunting that requires me hiking in and field dressing.

Have used this size bag for hunting for decades. Bought two. One to replace an older daypack, and one to fill up with a bugout kit to stash at work. Great bag.

Love my new pack. Plenty of room to carry your gear as well as some extra clothing. A lot of ways to secure add ons to the pack as well. Light weight yet very strong. Exactly what you would expect from Sitka.

Only one internal pocket

Would of liked to see more internal pockets. The one pocket is good for a first aid kit. I improvised with a hip bag for my possible. Storing that inside the bag.

Fit and function

Let me start by saying I own almost all Sitka hunting gear and love it so the next step was replacing my badlands pack with the mountain pack. My badlands pack feels better made both stitching and fabric wise but the 2700 meets all my requirements for packing. If it was constructed of heavier material it would have easily become my favourite hunting pack.

Western Colorado Elk Hunt

I went on my second elk hunt in Colorado this last September, and was glad I chose this as my pack. Has plenty of adjustments to get it to fit comfortably, more than enough pockets and space to carry enough gear to stay out a few days at a time, and extremely durable to bust through brush with it on.

Comfy

The pack is light. The zippers are pretty nice. I'm tall and skinny. The pack fits well. I only had about 18 pounds in it. But I'm t carried it well.

I have the 6000 but needed a mid size pack. This is perfect.

A little noisy for stalking, but great fabric for durability and comfort as well as expected Sitka quality.

Go bigger

I bought this for an elk hunt and although the pack was tough, and had plenty of space, I would recommend going bigger because it just wasn't big enough for carrying gear and big game.
