Jacket seems durable enough. Front hand pockets do not zip and the jacket isn’t “ waterproof “ goretex. Just wind proof. Sizing is good but body of jacket is “fatter” than it needs to be. Kind of a letdown for a 280 dollar work jacket, but if it’s not giving me a PNW downpour it’s all good. Still need to find a durable goretex jacket, that’s waterproof, unfortunately.
I've been wearing the Grindstone as my everyday winter jacket, and adjusting my layers as needed depending on the the weather. So far, it's been great. I'm 6', 250lbs and the XL fits with enough room to layer. I'm not really sure what the pocket in the lower back is for, but i've been using it for my gloves and it's been fine. I've received some compliments on the look, as well.
My only complaints are few and minor. I wish they had kept the orange embroidered logo on the chest and arm like I saw in some pictures, instead of the gray. Also, I wish there was a magnet or other way to keep the front pockets closed. They stay open, and I can see them filling up with snow while I brush off the truck or something like that. Again, not a big deal.
This Jacket fits well , good zippers . great everyday winter jacket !! plenty of room to Layer.

Owning the Off-Season
A good coach once told me that “being lucky” is actually just being prepared. It was a valuable lesson and one that also applies to the backcountry. Now is the time to prepare with a purpose, not the week before the season starts.

Sitka did a fine job on this jacket. Most important it does breath, upper back sweat is controlled very well. No complaints.
Bought this for doing chores in the cold MN winters and wet falls and spring. The only reason I did not rate this as a 5 is that it does not have the nice athletic fit that others items have. The roomier fit is nice if layering but when worn alone if leaves room for drafts. The pockets also allow for snow to fall into the hand warmer pockets. I would have returned for a smaller size but because the sleeve length in the smaller size does not work for me, I kept the jacket.
This jacket is awesome. The combo of Windstopper and Primaloft keep you warm, especially when moving. The back pocket and shoulder cut to allow movement are a little quirky, so just know they’re there before you buy. Size does run a little big. I’m 6’1” 205, bought XL and can comfortably run it with a hoodie underneath.
This is the warmest coat I have ever owned. It’s almost too warm as WI weather can change quick during the day. I have worn it to football games, snowboarding and during everyday work and it’s held up. The pockets have plenty of room. I love this coat.
