This is an awesome jacket. It's light weight and the primaloft gold down blend insulation is every where in this jacket. I have two requirements for a winter coat which are primaloft insulation and windproof. This jacket checks both boxes.

Fantastic jacket. Extremely warm, water and wind proof. Only downside is that the midsection is probably too big if you’re an average dude. I know that this isn’t performance fit, but still, everything fits perfect except the midsection. I ordered a large. I’m 5’9 175 muscular build.

This is a first impressions review. It’s a very comfortable soft on the skin jacket, amazingly lightweight and warm. If you’re a bigger guy this is the perfect fit. The dovetail on the back is awesome if you’re a guy with a longer torso. The puffyness part isn’t overly puffy and won’t leave you feeling like the Michelin man. Sitka nailed the everyday casual fit on this one. Buy with confidence!

I would recommend sizing down in this jacket. The sizing on it is a bit big compared to Sitka's other jackets. I have the Duck Oven Jacket and Gradient Hoodie in a medium (which fit perfectly), so I figured this would be fine in a medium as well. The arms were 3-4in too long and lots of space between my torso and the jacket. Other than that the jacket is ridiculously, ridiculously comfortable. The inside of the front pockets are super soft fleece lined and the inside lining is soft. It is extremely light too which is always a plus.

Paired with a light vest, neck gaiter, fishing bibs and face shield, i wore this as my primary jacket for 12 hours of overnight river airboating in temperatures down to 32F degrees. If you’re unfamiliar with airboats, they’re the ones with an airplane propeller. So you move a ton of air around your body, especially as the pilot, driving 30-35 mph on an elevated stand. Typically i would have a rain shell to break the wind. None required… until below 32F, then i finally got it out. This jacket truly blocks all wind. It is super comfortable and true to size imo. I am 6’4”, 260 lbs and i love the fitment. I actually just wore this thing in my house for about two weeks before really getting to put it to the test. It maintains a nice thermal homeostasis and is bone dry breathable. Unless your moving around a lot at 60+ degrees, then it can become a little sweat oven. I loved it so much I purchased a second jacket and bought one for my brother. Our best friend then got one. I’ve since had it out in near-freezing conditions while driving a normal boat while it was lightly raining. Didn’t feel wet or cold. It performs great paired with a light vest in slightly sub-freezing temps when you aren’t boating. I guess the point is that the wind blockade and mixed insulation type are a great pairing. Take naps in it on the couch. The hood is comfortable. The multiple pockets, internal and external are exactly what you need (external cell phone etc holder at your chest. The hem draw cords are a must. I am increasingly surprised at the durability of the face fabric. I’ve rubbed up against plenty of rough stuff without any tear at all. No snagged threads. I own a LOT of puffer jackets. The typical glossy to shiny ones are very very easy to tear. Cons: 1. The neck/face. It doesn’t come up nearly enough. It stops just below the chin. The neck hole diameter is pretty generous. The result: freezing air freely flows in and it’s very noticeable. So you either need a puffer vest that covers the high neck, or even just a light neck gaiter, and it completely solves the issue. I assume it’s roomy for layering. Not sure why the collar doesn’t go higher like in mountaineering puffers. That would be a nice addition. 2. The draw strings for the hood are within the upper interior of the jacket body. You have to unzip the main jacket zipper about 6-12 inches to access them. Why? I’m not sure. The odd placement makes me think there is some reason for the design, as it took some extra effort and material to manufacture this way. Someone will have to explain it to me. My preferred location for hood drawstrings would be out in the open or back of the hood or within the hand warmer pockets. 3. Not a con. Just a wish. Two way main zipper would be lovely. In any jacket. A guy’s gotta pee standing up. Difficult to get access when you’re layered over in bibs/waders and other jackets, vests, pants, etc. it’s also great to be able to vent yourself without undoing the top zip. Just a wish. Nobody seems to be doing it anymore on puffrs, which is a real shame. I would guess that YKK zipper costs combined with inflation/overhead costs has stopped designers from using. So for the price point and current economy, I get it. I have several Sitka rain shells and 3 out of 4 have 2-way zippers. Indispensable in my opinion. But not necessary for this waist length coat. I never write reviews, but this jacket deserved one.

This has become my everyday jacket. It is really warm. It also works as a great mid-layer for travel to the blind or a way to knock the wind chill off. It's 100% windproof and keeps the light rain off. On 20-degree mornings I wear this and a T-shirt to stay warm.

I bought this jacket in X-LARGE received it quickly and found it to be much too big. I’m 511 and 210 lb so I had to exchange it. I ordered it from Canada so I expected all sorts of fun and games exchanging the jacket, well I found the customer service to be outstanding. Lots of support quick exchange and now I have a large which fits perfectly. The only thing surpassing the customer service is the fit and function of the Rover jacket. Excellent warmth, wind protection and quality materials and workmanship. Just Ann excellent jacket and a great experience all around. Have been wearing it for 3 weeks now and it’s cold here but the jacket is working out great.

Really flimsy and cold. No zipper pulls maybe afraid would puncture the material? Disappointing, was ready to put up with some noise for warmth but none here. None of the gore windstopper works for me. Seems items like this, mountain jacket, etc with windstopper have open cuffs to let the wind in, why?

Please start making your everyday jackets with a stretchy bottom. I’ve seen several other reviews stating that the bottoms are too tight and restricting. Same results with mine. Great jacket but bottoms need to be stretchy. Same for the Berber bluff jacket

Overall I would say it is a great jacket for sure! I would not pay full price for this jacket but I feel like it was worth it at the sale price. I am 5' 11" and weigh 180 lbs with a 34" waist. I usually take a large in everything but I tried both the medium and the large. I went with the medium but it is snug at the waist and a little snug in the shoulders. I have the cinches all the way out on the waist and it is still snug. The large was better in the waist but too big up top. I like having the option to cinch up the waist but in this jacket I unfortunately do not have that option. At this price point I would also like to see better zippers on the chest pocket and the hand pockets. It is a super warm jacket and I love the fleece lined hand pockets. I would recommend for sure if you can catch it on sale.
