This is the best bag I've owned. Love the quality of the bag, and the simplicity. I purchased it to travel lite into the woods whether I'm using it for bow hunting or in the timber waterfowling. Perfect bag for all applications. Thanks again Sitka, your products rule !!

I duck hunt about three days a week during the hunting season and like to travel lite. I can fit neck gader, Callers Glove, 50rds of shells, my Delta Deek GTX gloves, jerk string, hat, beenie, bottle of water, hand-warmers, and headlamp inside without having the zippers being stretched. I’ve hunted in heavy snow and rain and have not noticed anything inside the sling choke wet. I’m a slimmer build and will probably end up shortening the straps but highly recommend this to anyone.

It’s great for hunting in

It’s great for hunting in water. You don’t have to take the pack off you just slide it around which is quick and clean.

It’s quality made just not very handy

It is well made and if you don’t carry much you should be fine. It just doesn’t fit my needs. I thought it would be handier than a normal blind bag being able to flip it around to the front but that feature is what makes this bag a 1 star for me. I really wish I would have just got a regular blind bag or a actual backpack Pros - well made Cons - kinda small Almost has to be carried cross body. Has a waist belt that needs to be used or you choke yourself and if you don’t use it, it gets in the way

Great minimal pack

I took the Sling choke hunting on a SC draw hunt at Murphy Island. This pack is excellent for mobile hunting in marshes. It's hard to find anywhere to sit a regular blind bag down when everything is flooded. The sling choke gave me the same benefits a standard blind bag in a more mobile package. I was able to hunt with my kit on me. It also gave me the ability to haul my ducks hands free. The only negative to this pack is that its not water prof but it stayed high and dry on my back. A dry bag version of this would be a great Idea for hunters wading in deeper marshes or hunting in rainy weather.

The bag has a very slim profile, which limits what you can pack in it, but that is perfect for me. I usually walk in a good way and try to keep the load to a minimum. Great features that are really thought through. I love how you can sling it to the front of your body and access everything easily without ever having to take the pack off.

I would consider this a minimalist bag. It's a bit small for waterfowl hunters. If the same bag could expand just a bit, it would make a big difference.

Sling Choke is my absolute

Sling Choke is my absolute favorite hunting bag.

Very Pleased

Bought this bag as a lightweight counterpart to a full choke pack. Primarily use this for dove hunting and teal season when I don't need to pack as much. Absolutely love it and the storage layout. Perfect for early season as well.

Too small, not waterproof

This bag is fine if you want to carry 1 box of shells and maybe a hat and pair of gloves. You aren’t fitting anything more than that in here. Way too small. The one time I used it it sprinkled and my one box of shells got soaked because it’s not water resistant at all. It’s actually more like a sponge. I’d recommend any other bag besides this one. Only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because it is well made like all of sitkas stuff. This one just misses the mark as a good waterfowl bag.

This bag is great for frequent hunters. The sling concept is great, but the straps are a little too long. I did figure out a way you could tuck them into a slit in the buckle so it didn’t bother me anymore. The pockets are sized great for any essential items you may store in it. Lastly, the material is just what you’d expect from Sitka. Great product.

This product is most definitely

This product is most definitely sub-par for what is expected of Sitka Gear products. On the one hand (positive), the quality of materials and workmanship is superb. On the other hand, however (not so great), the design is unfortunately seriously flawed. The flaws I'm about to describe are perhaps unimportant for for individuals well over six feet tall and close to 300 pounds or so. For me, at 5' 7' and about 140 pounds (hello, folks!), it is the three-way connection point in the front of the pack that quite seriously fails the test: the upper/shoulder-to-horizontal-crossover intersection angles are totally out of whack for such sizes! The result is that the horizontal cross-over piece pulls into my body quite seriously and digs into my abdomen just below the sternum. In cold weather when I'm wearing several layers of clothes, this is not much of a problem; however, during these warmer days of spring and beginnings of summer, this is becoming a significant issue. My bottom line is that I rate this product as mediocre at best. It will probably work well enough for larger folks, especially in cooler weather; however, beyond that, caveat emptor! If the Sitka folks are interested, I am available for professional consultation regarding ways to improve this product.

Great sling, I've been using

Great sling, I've been using it constantly for three years! A large number of pockets allows you to store everything you need and even leave room for a couple of sandwiches. I have a few wishes: - I would like the material of the sling and the zippers to be waterproof. - We need to add the Earth color, because there are waders of this color, I also would like the color of the lead. - Very long straps, you need to figure out how to attach them so that they do not hang out and interfere. For example Velcro or elastic bands.

Great small bag that has

Great small bag that has a lot of room for hunting essentials. Did keep my stuff dry during a light rain hunt. You can easily sling the pack around you to get gear out or put inside of it. Only con for me is the waist strap but I just tuck it in the hidden pocket on the back. Great bag and I would highly recommend for any hunter!

Has everything you need for jumping ducks. I walk miles of river with this pack and I forget I have it on. It has a built in lanyard for my ducks as well to keep my hands free. When I’m not jumping ducks it’s got handles so I can use it like a blind bag. Great Product !

Bag has been great. Holds all of my essential gear and is easy to transport. I mostly hunt dry fields, if I hunted more water I would want a waterproof bag. Zipper did break after 3 season (I hunt about 60 days a season in multiple states) Sitka replaced bag without question

I love Sitka and have

I love Sitka and have many products. This bag is great, but I have 2 complaints. 1. The stitch angle of the waist to shoulder strap (female attachment on waist portion) is made for a super wide human, which causes all stress to be put on a single sti tch, causes it to pull up. 2. A lot of leftover straps, just hanging there, which isnt too terrible bc I can cut those and get them sewed over. I can get used to those 2 things, I use it for fly fishing, but will try it out this season in Missouri in the blind.

Is not waterproof. Is a very downgrade... Is obvious that most of the duck hunter are in the waters while hunting. So, why is so dificult to do something waterproof? Beside that, the product is almost perfect.

First purchase from Sitka Gear. After an intensive search for the right sized pack for Tethered (Saddle) hunting - this is the one. Great design and built to last. I am using this pack for archery and gun season. The Sling Choke works well in Timber or Elevated environments and holds everything the minimalist needs for the day. The pack even has room for my Predator Platform, water, deer calls, food, and other stuff I need at the ready. Best of all, it is light and easy to climb with worn on the front or back. Once at shooting height, I hang it in the horizontal position, and now all zipped pockets are easy to access.

This needs to be fully

This needs to be fully waterproof. Water will go through the zippers. Doesn't hold up to the water the dog brings into the boat, nor the kayak when getting in with waders from the water. Plenty of pockets, organization, and size.

The sling pack needs to

The sling pack needs to be made in subalpine I don’t carry a pack because I don’t want a strap on my shooting shoulder. The sling I can put on whatever shoulder I want and still shoulder my gun.

I replaced my blind bag

I replaced my blind bag after 12 years. I hunt public land and early season when you may have to walk to flooded areas that the birds are using this was great. The different pockets made it easy to access all your gear and there’s enough space for everything. The bag stays put with the waist buckle and this is key as most know when you are accessing those hard to reach places of the marsh you don’t want it moving around too much.

I like this bag quite

I like this bag quite a bit. I have loaded it with as many as 3 boxes of shells, but 2 really boxes fit perfectly, especially if you add in a thermos. Still it had room for gloves, calls, hats, etc. the only thing I would tweak would be the main strap where it joins the waist belt. The angle needs to be changed a little to make it lay flatter, but I’m nitpicking at that point. I also used it as a personal item on the plane and they didn’t make me count it as a carry on, so with a little clever packing you can avoid checking a bag.

Great everyday dog training pack. Too small for me to use as a blind bag, for most it would be fine. Can carry 1-2 boxes of shells, calls, gloves, hat.. I personally need to carry more than 2 boxes of shells in my blind bag.
