Why We Made This

Whitetail pursuits require the absolute best protection from the chill of long sits in mid-season. So, we designed the Stratus with GORE® WINDSTOPPER® to create a fully featured, 100% windproof bib that was optimized for these exact conditions. We utilized micro-grid fleece for its warmth-to-weight ratio, and the DWR finish sheds light precipitation and won’t wet-out the face fabric. Full-zip legs allow for easy on/off or heat dumping without leaving the stand.

These bibs do what they were designed to do. They are exceptionally quiet and wind proof. With layering, I have made it down into the 20’s in the stand. For an all day sit I’d look at the fanatic bibs. The pockets are well thought out. I am 5’11 200lbs and the xl’s fit me well and allow for layers. I’ve been impressed with all the Sitka gear I’ve purchased.

Totally silent. Very warm. I recently used it for a morning sit on the ground in 25F with occasional wind with only a 260 wt. merino base layer. My legs were never cold or uncomfortable. They’re completely silent.

I’m 6’2” 206 and the regular Large works for me.

The side zip is an absolute must have and was the sole reason I went for the bib over the pant version. It’s essential for when the day warms up, and you don’t want to change while processing meat. It’s also great for hiking in or packing out.

It’d be very hard to improve on this product. The only things I could imagine adding would be belt loops, deep hand pockets like on the pant version, and zippered chest pockets. I’d like the idea of an additional snap around the ankle to tighten them at the bottom, but I’ve never had a problem with wind coming up my ankles. Excellent design.

I bought these bibs back in October 2021. After a year of hunting in these I’ve been blown away. They do a great job of stopping the wind and cold. This past Friday I did an all day sit and it rained for about 4 hours straight that morning. I stayed dry the entire time. Great system!

I’ve only been out a couple times with these and absolutely love them. I’m 5’11” 205 lbs and went with the xl’s. They have enough room to layer but aren’t too baggy. The pockets are well thought out and in great locations. Bibs cut the wind as advertised.

I am 6’5 200lbs and these bibs fit me perfectly. I was concerned about them being too short since they did not come in a tall size. They have a velcro waist adjustment and length adjustment on the straps. They will get you in low 20’s if you layer properly and can wear them in 40’s comfortably. It is a must have mid to late season.

I'm 6'2", 180 lbs, athletic/slim build with a long torso/31" inseam/32" waist; the medium Stratus bibs are perfectly sized for me whether wearing independently, or for adding a mid insulation layer. Not too baggy, not too tight in either situation. Love the double zipper option on the chest zip. Only worn them twice so far, but can't think of much I'd change. Only suggestions would be to 1) add a single zipper that runs along the inside of both legs, similar to rip-off warmup athletic leggings - if it had one, you'd be able to take off or put on a mid layer while in the stand, and 2) add a couple of additional loops to make adjustable suspender straps longer - I'm on the longest setting and if I were any taller they'd be too tight. Those are fairly minor suggestions, though, not complaints. They're great.

I am a 5'2" and 160 lb female and the Medium fit perfect. Super nice for walking to/sitting in the stand. Love all the big pockets and leg zippers. They have pockets big enough for my binos and there is plenty of room for layering. Also, super quiet!

I own many pieces of Sitka gear and this is by far the most invaluable item that I own. You will not find a more versatile pair of bibs anywhere. I am extremely cold natured, but with proper layering these bibs will get me through anything. They are so lightweight and pack up perfectly. Sitka gear is so nice and is a true luxury to own, but this is one piece of gear that every whitetail hunter actually needs.

These are the warmest pair of bibs I have ever owned. Wind proof and water resistant with tons of pocket space. The hip zips make it easy for putting on in the stand or venting heat if you wear them into the stand. Im 5'10 195 and I wear a large. they fit very well and are extremely flexible. Perfect bibs for the 30's.

Okay I'm back, roughly 5'10 , 135lbs with a 29-30 inch waist. These bibs are great of course, I'm just here for a fitting comparison for the skinny guys out there. So I originally ordered a Medium to match my jacket but they were a bit baggy and I hate baggy. They drug the ground a bit (with boots on it wouldn't matter but they would just bunch up a lot) unless I raised the straps up to the highest notch on the suspenders, but in doing so the crotch got really really tight. So I sold those and ordered a size Small from Roger's Sporting Goods since they still carried them. (Sitka stopped making size small in most of their items due to them being unpopular according to the representative I spoke with over the phone) so all in all the quality is nothing less than superb and like I said I hope this helps some of you smaller guys out a bit on sizing concerns!

Excellent pair of bibs! Wore them for the first time in a late December white tail hunt. Chilly mornings and warm afternoons. They worked great for both with a mid level base layer for the am and just a regular pair of pants underneath in the pm. The reason I am giving them only 4 stars is bc of how light the pattern is. It almost looks like they are only meant for Midwest or snowy whitetail hunts. Love the digital patterns, but again, very light pattern. Not how the picture looks.

As others have stated, Stratus bibs are top shelf material and quality is superb. When I was researching which pants/bibs to get, I couldn't find any first hand accounts about length/inseam (other than the standard sizing chart which says 32" for a Large) on the Sitka website or any other retailers website. I'm 6'4" and 195lb and was worried about ordering these in a Large since a Large Tall isn't offered. The bib straps have 9 different loops in which to hook the strap latch into so it is highly adjustable. Bottom line, the bib length was perfect in the tallest setting and would effectively call it a 34" inseam (max). If I was any taller, it would start to get a little short. Great product!

This is the most versatile hunting system you can get. I use it in temperatures from 40 degrees during archery (stand) and through late rifle season in PA usually temps of 15 above. I wear a medium base in the 40’s and a heavy base in the 20’s. For stand hunting when in the 20’s I add a fanatic vest under neath and warm. The wind proof is legit. I drove I 20 degree weather with my arm out the window and felt nothing. When they say windproof it’s really windproof. Also, don’t be discouraged by how this the material was. I was very skeptical. Extremely comfortable and the most silent material I’ve used. I sold my First Lite system after using the status.

The Stratus System is excellent. Sitka calls it a “mid season” system. I live in Louisiana and this system will take you through the entire season. When layered right this system will take you into the low teens. I know every persons “comfort zone” in cold weather is different. What works for me in cold weather is: Fanatic hoodie, Celsius Medi, Stratus jacket, core mid weight bottom, Equinox pants, and Stratus bibs. This will take you through the whole season in the south and I believe in the mid west! Sitka gear is worth every penny! Invest in this system you will not be disappointed!

Bought these to use in the late season and ended up wearing them almost every day. These are great at stopping the wind and are very warm and quiet. I will say if you plan on wearing these without a pant underneath you will get cold, that membrane stops the wind but it’s in insulated so it gets cold. I wore it with 2 light thermal layers and the timberline pant and these kept me warm in single digit temps. Highly recommend to late season archery/tree stand hunters and to those who are just looking for a bib to keep the chill off of most of them on those days during the cold snap of the Rut. 9/10 because of having to wear another pant underneath but other than that great product highly recommend them.

These bibs are exactly what I’ve been hoping for! The fit is spot on. They are cut big enough to fit some layers underneath without the need to size up. The design of the suspenders are low profile and lack of buckles are a great addition. No worries of a buckle being in the way when shouldering a rifle or drawing a bow. The leg zippers come all the way up to the hip and make putting on with boots a breeze. I’ve always loved the Stratus line and those bibs are no exception.
