Great fit and warm due to the wind proofing. I get cold easy so once it gets below 35 degrees I switch to the fanatic kit but this stratus system is comfortable, fits great, quite, and 100% wind proof. Great for bow hunting.

I am 6'1" 190-195. Jacket fits great it's a large . Everything I was expecting. Close fit not bulky and warm. Even though it's a close fit there is still room underneath to layer i got the midweight shirt and the merino heavy base layer with room to spare for a vest. Wish I could have got the LT hopefully the sleeves won't shrink.

There is a lot of things I like about this jacket and a couple I don’t. First, the wind stopper technology, removable hood, quiet buttons and zippers, and safety harness opening is intentional and seems to work well. Two things that I did not like about the jacket were the overall length of the torso. Even a large tall, the jacket was very short Unlike the ambient, and jetstream jackets which do fit tall in the torso as well. Also the Jacket needs some sort of Velcro straps or elastic around the wrist to prevent air from traveling up the arm.

I used this for a 3 day backpacking, camping, and hunting trip. Temperatures ranged from high 30s to low 70s and this jacket was great and was easy to regulate. During the coldest times I had a UA cold gear base layer and this jacket and then at warmer temps I had a light weight merino blend base layer and had an easy time regulating by just how much I zipped the jacket up.

If anyone asks, “what set should I get when I buy my first pieces” if you get a early season set and a stratus set and layer properly, you can stay comfortable in a wide range of temps. Kudos to the Sitka team on the stratus set. Highly recommended!

The stratus set does it all once temps hit low to mid 40’s. It is perfect for bow hunting to minimize bulk while at full draw, while super effective with the wind protection. You can easily layer underneath to stay warm into the windy freezing temp days. Paired with the fanatic vest this setup can do it all. Highly recommend the stratus system if you are a diehard bowhunter in the northeast!

I normally come to these reviews with the intent of determining size so that’s what I’ll focus on. I’m 6 foot 215 lbs and I decided to go with the X-large so I could layer underneath. I tried the large on at the store before ordering and while I could put it on, I would not be able to put much underneath, and it did fit a little tight in the armpits, even without anything underneath. This is one of my favorite windproof outer layers I’ve ever put on. I will probably use this as my primary outer jacket for most of the late season. I have some subzero gear, but it tends to be so bulky that I’d rather go with something like this with a couple layers underneath that I can peel off. They thought of just about everything when designing this jacket and it has all the bells and whistles you’d want to hunt a blind or up a treestand. Just understand that all of these high-end type gears are meant to be layered. Anyone thing by itself is not gonna work properly. If you want to stay warm, you need a wind stopper outer layer, but you also need some air, comfy under layers that retain warmth. For years, I wore bottom of the barrel store-bought brand hunting gear because I didn’t think it was worth spending the money. If you have the money to spend do it, you’ll be a lot more comfortable.
