Staple in my hunting clothes

This jacket is a must have! I match this jacket with my Sitka Core Mid-weight Zip T. I stay warm in the early mornings of November when hunting in Montana. I am very active when hunting deer and it doesn’t burn me up when I break a little sweat. This jacket will always be apart of my gear. Runs a little big I am a XL in almost everything but I wear a XXL in this jacket and it fits perfect.

Great for Texas weather

This hoody is exactly what you should buy if you hunt Texas. It’s got just enough warmth to wear solo over a baselayer from the 60’s to high 40’s. One of the more durable jackets as well so it will not give out on you after a few seasons. I sized up one to a large, fits great and you could put a vest under no problem if its a cold day.

Comfortable & Face mask is handy/easy to access

Very comfortable and fits well. The face mask is great in cold weather when hunting, hiking, and shoveling snow when the wind is blowing. It is very convenient when glassing on ridges when the wind picks up.

Great product

I have hunted 70 to single digits with this piece. Great as an outer layer on those warmer days and great as a mid layer on the cold days.

New Favourite

I purchased this hoody for a late season Bighorn hunt in Alberta, temperatures were extremely cold ( -11 to -20 Celsius). I didn’t take this thing off the entire week I was out there. Wore a 250 wt merino base layer under it. For frigid conditions I highly recommend this hoody. I am 6’0” tall, 200lbs and ordered a size large. The fit is a little snug but worked well with just the base layer underneath. If you wanted to use it with multiple layers underneath I would size up for sure. I literally have not stopped wearing this thing since I got it, absolutely love it.

I only purchased this when it was onsale for $99. When it arrived, i was extremely impressed with the quality and warmth. A lot of similar class jackets have a different lining for the sleeves compared to the body. This has the same sherpa style lining throughout which i appreciate. This was a last minute purchase in prep for my first western big game hunt. This ended up being my only warmth layer. The material is very quiet and surprisingly abrasion resistant. I spent a lot of time hiking through, over, and under beetle kill deadfall. On the hunt, i wore an ultralight merino t-shirt, 260g merino quarter zip and then this for the cold temperatures. It was a mid september backcountry elk hunt that saw temps from 70 degrees to below freezing. This combo was plenty warm for nights at camp and glassing but way too warm for anything on the move. Please note: This fit is a tight-to-body athletic fit. i am 5'10, 200lbs and the large is pretty fitted and tight. For casual or "easier" hunts, this would be too tight but for wearing a pack and hiking in the high country, the tight fit was welcomed. Overall, i couldn't find a better jacket that punches WAY above its weight class when it comes to warmth. Knowing what i know now, i would have paid full retail for it. I don't bow hunt, but i'd imagine that the athletic fit and tight sleeves would be appreciated.

Picky teenage son loves this jacket

My son is super picky about coats and clothing in general but loves this coat. It is lightweight but has kept him warm during his camping trips and cold Colorado winter mornings. He loves the thumbholes and the mask. I usually don't pay this much for coats for him but he has worn it religiously and it has withstood some rough wear. I wash it regularly and still looks really good. We got the storm color and it's a handsome color.

Perfect for multiple situations

I am a skinny 125 lb teenager that is 5'10 and the size medium fits good. It is super good for Ohio pre rut and it great for layering in late season. I wear it on its own most times in the rut though. I highly recommend this hoodie and I also recommend putting it under the thunderhead rain coat to insulate you wile the coat keeps the snow and rain off you.

Traverse jacket

Haven’t used it yet, but it feels very comfortable and warm. I feel like this will be a critical piece this year for me.

Perfect hoodie!

I wanted something that was not too warm and bulky for the early season and this hoody doesn't disappoint! I usually wear xl hoodies so I went with the xl and I'm glad I did. Loose fit will allow me to layer up if needed, but can also use over just a light shirt. I'm 5'11" and 176#'s.

Sitka for ever

I'm probably the cheapest hunter out there! I've used the same clothes for 20 years, I finally broke down and purchased the traverse jacket with matching pants!! Pretty penny but definitely worth it 110% I tried just about every other brand on in the store and couldn't get the fit that I wanted until I tried the sitka brand. Thanks team! I'll update you when I really put this stuff to work this season! Would be nice if the price was just a little nicer on the wallet

Awesome piece of gear

I bought this last fall before a back country November hunt. wore it everyday for 19 days, it was warm and my new favorite piece of gear.

I have two old jackets

I have two old jackets in Subalpine and Elevated colors. I ordered two jackets in a new design and in other colors. Yesterday I tested a new jacket model and was extremely pleased! The pocket on the chest has become much more convenient and roomy. The sleeves of the jacket have become shorter and there is a convenient cutout for the thumb. I really like that SITKA modernizes their models, making them better. Thank you very much for this - Thank you!

This is a very warm

This is a very warm jacket and cuts the wind really well. It is slightly too tight in the arm pits like some of these other reviews say. I wish they made a L Tall or even and XL Tall for a guy like me 6’ 2” and 195. I am happy with the XL but it’s not a perfect fit.

Great hoody! Love the full

Great hoody! Love the full zipper. Used several times turkey hunting on cool mornings with temps in the 30's, it was perfect.

Old version was better with the hood on a collar rather than like traditional zip up hoodies. The material is still great. Sizing is good, except a large is a little tight under the arms but then the XL is huge. A little more room in the arm pits please!

I hunt almost every other

I hunt almost every other weekend of the season. I love it. I have worn it duck, deer, and turkey hunting. If I could change one thing about it it’s the hood. Fits a little weird but sure does not allow any wind in.

Very warm jacket without the

Very warm jacket without the bulk. I wore this in 28 degree weather with 7 inches of snow and wasn’t cold. Also, the jacket was waterproof enough that the snow never made it wet.

I got to use this

I got to use this hoody for one full season and I love it. I'm 5'10' 170lbs athletic build. I have it in a medium. The sleeve length is great bc I do have longer arms. The body size is slimmer but I can still layer fine. I've really got a use for this in my sitka system from layering to only outer jacket. I love it. So quite and warm too

Annoying cut/fit but fantastic quality

Annoying cut/fit but fantastic quality and design. These are cut for un-athletic average joes. Specifically the armpit/shoulder area is super tight. I am 6’ ,175 and athletic. The large is super tight in the armpits, it will take some getting used to, but if I size up the belly will be huge. Since I bought it on sale I’m still very happy with it because of great quality and features. Would not pay full price due to the fit though.

This jacket is killer. I

This jacket is killer. I consider this a jacket but it's truly a next level hoody. I have used it as my outer layer hunting but I mainly use this as my outer layer for everyday use. It is extremely comfortable and very warm. It is quiet enough to hunt in and is a great layer for extreme cold. Depending on what size you choose it can be very versatile. I normally wear medium but chose to get a large to be able to layer beneath. I will be getting a medium to use a mid layer because it would be perfect under any outer shell. I say get one in a size up and get one in your normal size. It will be the most used Sitka piece you own. I am 5'9', 160 lbs.

Finally got me a Sitka hoody after Christmas and I absolutely love it. A tee shirt and my hoodie and I’m good to go here in Tennessee

I got this one in

I got this one in Storm for wearing out and about, not for hunting. It's incredible. The medium is a big big on me (5'8, 155, distance runner), but not so much that it looks weird - it just doesn't fit how I generally prefer things to fit. With that said, this jacket is amazing. It's warm enough to wear over a thin shirt when it's between 35 and 55 degrees, which in the DC Metro region, covers a good chunk of the year. You'd need more in the snow, but that's not what this is built for. My favorite part is that there's no 'swooshy' sound when you move - none. It's silent. My least favorite part is the thumb holes - they're poorly designed and cut into the webbing of your thumb when utilized, so that's a function I'll just ignore. No reason to take off a star, though. It's just an option I don't use.
