Just received my hoodie and love it. Compare to the original women hoodie this one is worth the upgrade. I love the technology of the old material but the extra front pocket, longer torso, hand warmers and face shield are amazing upgrades. You will find yourself wearing this hoodie more than in the field or scouting, it is comfortable and simple for everyday wear. Love it Sitka and keep up on the women’s line. I can’t wait to get the new insect repellent material on a women’s fit.

Wonderful to feed in the
Wonderful to feed in the -35 windchill this winter. Love layering with all the Sitka gear - this is the perfect first layer. Easy to move in. Love the neck gaiter in the hood. Very convenient. The long arms with flip over mittens are also very handy.

I am 5'8'' with 5'10'
I am 5'8'' with 5'10' arm span. I ordered a size large and it is comfortable and fits perfectly. It is fitted without being baggy and FINALLY I have a top that is long enough in the arms! The body length is nice as well and doesn't creep up exposing your lower back. Best points - it blocks the wind, long enough arms, and the hood is well thought out. I live in Iowa and between hunting, sitting at outdoor sporting events, and snowmobiling, this gets a lot of use. I have not worn it by itself for a long length of time, so I can't review it that way. I have worn it as a base layer and it has been fabulous. I know it stops the wind because the jacket and vest I have worn over it were not windproof. The hood fits good with or without a ponytail - I also wear the hood up under my snowmobile helmet. The hood covers well without limiting your sight. It is also quiet for hunting. I would easily wear this daily and the only reason I don't is the price. I am trying to save it for when the conditions warrant it. I have not found any downsides to this product yet. If I start to get pilling on it like some of the other reviews stated, I will update this post if I can. I know the price is high, but I hate being cold and uncomfortable, so it is worth it for me.

Wanted to love this . It is very warm ; but after just one wear the entire thing is pilling so bad . And not just where the binoculars harness was . The sleeves elastics are also showing through . Disappointed because even on sale it was still pricey . My boyfriend has the men’s version and it did not do that .

I was so excited for
I was so excited for this hoody and really wanted to love it! The Bison color is to die for. For sizing I was right on the borderline of the small and medium waist measurements, so I opted for the medium and was glad I did. I don't like my clothing super compressive. There were a few things that just didn't hit the mark for me though, so I ended up returning. The built in mittens- at first I thought they were going to be awesome, but when not in use, you are left with sleeves that are waaay too long and have to be folded up. I felt like a kid wearing a hand-me-down that was too big because of the sleeves (but overall the rest of the size was good). The sewing of the material also felt itchy around my wrists where the sleeves had to be rolled back. As far as bow shootability, I did not feel like I had a great range of motion in the shoulder. I never shot my bow in it because I knew I'd be returning it, but I don't think it would've been great for that. If the hoody didn't have the built in mittens, and thus the insanely long sleeves, I probably would've kept it for casual everyday wear. Now that I think about it, I almost wish I'd just taken it to a tailor to have the sleeves hemmed up, but that would've cost extra. This was my first piece of Sitka, and I'm still not a convert, but I might try it again in the future.

I bought the Fanatic Hoody as my first Sitka product, and it’s perfect! I live in Iowa, so I primarily hunt whitetails, which is why I chose this product. It’s truly made to fit a woman’s body. The face mask in the hood is super convenient for a hunter, no more forgetting your face mask! The hoody is very warm in itself, perfect for 30-50 degree weather. I don’t over-heat or get cold in it, so it’s good at regulating body temperature! The fabric of the hoody is also very nice quality, it’s thicker, and the waffle-knit inside fabric is very soft and cozy. I wish I could wear it every day! Sitka’s products are made as an athletic fit, so if you like your hunting clothes a little looser like I do, I would order a size bigger. I would recommend this as a first product for the whitetail hunter to try out the brand, they really live up to their name! Great job, Sitka!

Great hoody! Requires some upkeep.
I really love this hoody! As a female, it seems so many shirts are just far too short to be practical in the field, but the Fanatic hoody is plenty long to cover your lower back, even when squatting or kneeling. I'm 5'6" and 126 lbs and the small size fits well and looks nice. It's definitely not a fitted shirt but it doesn't just hang on me, either. It fits slimly enough that the Jetstream vest goes over it without any bunching, and gives me a little extra protection from the winds on gusty cold days. The Fanatic breathes surprisingly well, given its thickness, and the deep zipper helps when you need a little more ventilation on a hike or pack-out. The sleeves are perhaps overly long. They're designed with thumbholes, which is becoming quite common, though I don't really utilize that feature. The sleeves also feature an extra flap of fabric at the cuff that you can fold over your fingers for mittens. I haven't found this feature particularly useful, perhaps a little while glassing, but it does make the sleeves extra long and places the thumbholes far up your forearms when not utilizing them. I just let the extra sleeve fabric bunch up and it pretty much closes off the thumbholes so it's not much of a problem. The hood is excellent, and I used the built-in facemask a bit while sitting brush blinds on an archery elk hunt. When you're not using the facemask and have it folded into the back of the hood, it is tight enough that it will pull back the sides of the hood a bit. If there was an extra inch of fabric this would be solved, but then perhaps the mask would be too loose while being worn. I'm assuming the designers tested that all out so I will trust their decision. Having hoods on shirts like the Fanatic is great because it keeps the sun off of your neck and face, and helps a lot with shielding you from the wind as well. The fabric is very quiet, completely silent, but the hood will reduce your hearing a touch so be cognizant of that. I wasn't thrilled about the sweatshirt-style pocket on the front of the shirt when I ordered it, but I was pleased to see that the pocket lays very flush against your body and is virtually invisible. The shirt fits well and looks sharp, and when my hands get a little chilly I can stuff them into that front pocket with ease. The pocket is super soft! I am almost tempted to give this hoody four stars because of the fabric. It pills like crazy, and definitely don't get velcro near it. Anywhere your pack, bino harness, or coat sleeve rubs is going to pill in these little tiny white balls. I use a small facial hair trimmer to buzz the pilling off and it mostly keeps the shirt looking like new. I have worn it in the field for a few weeks so far this winter and it has held up great. The fabric is soooo soft on the inside. This is definitely one of my favorite pieces of Sitka gear, even if I have to do a little "pill management."
