Made with WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell fabric, this beanie keeps your head warm without adding much weight.
This beanie is perfect for late season hunts as well as those bursts of wind coming up the canyon. It blocks the wind perfectly. It fits very nice on your head. It does expose the bottom of my ear lobes which then got cold. The jet stream jacket hood over the top eliminates this discomfort.
Of the 16 products I own from Sitka, this is the only that is a failure. I had high hopes for this beanie considering I hunt where it is consistently blowing 20 mph or more. I own several pieces of gore wind stopper from multiple companies and love them all but the "fit" on this one is extremely disappointing. As the other reviewer commented the hat is "too short". Over half of my ears are exposed. The hat is also way to loose and not form fitting allowing for gusts of wind to go up in between the hat and your head. I wear a 7" in fitted ball caps so no my head isn't overly small or big. This hat simply doesn't get it done and leaves you exposed to the elements. The hat desperately needs to be made another 1-2 inches longer to fully cover your ears and implementing some spandex type fabric around the collar of the hat would make this hat useful and worth buying. Until then, I wouldn't recommend this hat.
Hey Shane - We appreciate your dedicated use and passion to improve SITKA Gear. Several great points that identify room for improvement. However, we wouldn't go as far as saying the Jetstream Beanie is a 'failure' but rather there is a gap in our line up. As we read your review it sounds like the basis to building a new product! Understand the fit was specifically designed for archery hunters. We intended the Jetstream Beanie to be a bit short. The short construction prevents any kind of sound barrier allowing for complete sensory awareness. The short construction also allows you to find your anchor point without any obstruction. We designed the fit to be slightly larger to accommodate layering. This allows a user to wear the Jetstream beanie during early season and layer with a Merino Beanie or Traverse Beanie as the temps drop. With this said, the Jetstream Beanie satisfies many hunters but does not solve the problems you are facing. We are introducing a new product this year that I can't fully discuss until May but it will hopefully remedy the situation. It will be constructed with GORE WINDSTOPPER, deeper stretch panels for more protection, and a little more insulation. I would still like to hear any additional insight or needs you have to ensure we have something for every situation!
I think it's a great beanie, that is NOT too short. This may be due to the fact I have (short?/small) lobes. Like Shane above, I also wear a size 7 fitted cap, so I imagine his lobes must be larger than my own. I can easily fit it over my traverse beanie AND SITKA cap without exposing my ears, AT ALL. I love the amount of warmth it provides. Thumbs up overall.

A. All of our orders are shipped via FedEx. Standard Ground, 2-Day or Overnight deliveries are available. Additional charges do apply for express shipments, oversized items and/or duties & customs into Canada.
A. If you have entered a valid email address through the checkout process you will receive an email from FedEx with your tracking number when your shipment is processed.
A. We make every effort possible to get your order processed and shipped in a timely fashion. Most orders are shipped within 2 business days of order placement. If an item on your order is backordered or out of stock, you will be contacted by a Sitka Gear customer service associate to discuss alternative options.
A. Creating an account with us helps speed up the ordering process for you and allows you to keep track of your order history, as well as manage your profile information online.
A. Sometimes credit/debit card statements contain two transactions, but this is only a temporary scenario. When a purchase is made, an authorization is placed on your card to temporarily hold the funds on your account. This is not an actual charge on your card. Once the order has been shipped, this authorization becomes an approval and charges your account at that time. The authorization will drop off your account within 2-3 business days (depending on the financial institution).
