Perfect Cold-Weather Base Layer
The Core Merino 330 Half-Zip has quickly become my go-to base layer when temps drop. The merino wool blend is incredibly soft and comfortable against the skin—no itch at all—and it regulates temperature better than anything I’ve tried. It keeps me warm when it’s freezing, but also breathes well enough that I don’t overheat during long hikes or when layering under heavier outerwear. The half-zip design is a great feature for dumping heat quickly, and the fit is athletic but forgiving—true to size with just enough stretch for freedom of movement. After several wears, I’ve noticed how well it resists odor, which is a huge plus on multi-day hunts. This is one of those pieces you’ll end up wearing both in the field and at home because it’s that comfortable. A must-have foundation for any Sitka system.
