It has 2 layers, inside being really soft and merino on outer layer. It also has some weight to it and should be warm for the colder hunts. Im 5’11” and 205lb and and XL fits perfectly.

I have the top and bottom 330 merino baselayers and I love them for mid to late season archery here in central Illinois. They don't restrict my full range of motion, they are very warm, absorb perspiration, and do not itch. I'm 6'1 and 170 lbs and wear a large top with a medium bottom.

Perfect Cold-Weather Base Layer

The Core Merino 330 Half-Zip has quickly become my go-to base layer when temps drop. The merino wool blend is incredibly soft and comfortable against the skin—no itch at all—and it regulates temperature better than anything I’ve tried. It keeps me warm when it’s freezing, but also breathes well enough that I don’t overheat during long hikes or when layering under heavier outerwear. The half-zip design is a great feature for dumping heat quickly, and the fit is athletic but forgiving—true to size with just enough stretch for freedom of movement. After several wears, I’ve noticed how well it resists odor, which is a huge plus on multi-day hunts. This is one of those pieces you’ll end up wearing both in the field and at home because it’s that comfortable. A must-have foundation for any Sitka system.

Go a size bigger!

Order a size bigger than normal. I’m a med went with a large and the fit is so much better. I’ve worn the 330 set if a couple of early morning goose hunts that went as low as 55 degrees. Loved the quarter size, you don’t feel the chocking like the other brands. The only thing I have to figure out if the smell. I’ve washed the set once. I don’t want to over wash so I hang them out size on the clothes line. But the base layers stink really bad if you sweat. Heads up on that. Others than that I am happy so far.

As with all Sitka product, quality shines through. I bought it in Fluorescent Orange as an upland piece and have not worn it to the field as yet. Fit is true to size. I expect this item to perform as advertised.

I’m 5 ft 8 in, 175 lbs and a medium worked perfect for me. Had a chance to use this snowboarding actually to try it out and was super warm all day even in high winds and temps below 20 degrees. Had a synthetic base, this core merino over that, and a thin windstopper outer layer and was perfectly fine all day. Good moisture management as well.

I actually bought this for a friend for Christmas. He noticed the one I was wearing and said that looks like it would keep you warm. I told him I had 2. So this year I blessed him with his own. He loves it.
