Don’t even need a thermacell anymore.

Keeps most of the bugs away. Material very thin, so doesn’t block bites from ones that land. Thin helps it be cooler though in warm weather - “give and take” I spose. Too stretchy and baggy. The baggy fit doesn’t help stop bites either because it still drapes tight against body on back, shoulders, and tops of arms.

Initial review

Is one of those I should have bought earlier but hesitated because of the price. I worked with bug repellant clothing while in the military and like most people, anything to keep the bugs away makes for a better hunt. I'm real familiar with permethrin and here in Texas I used to pre treat all my clothing, and now I don't have to. The verdict is out on how long it will maintain pest resistance and I'll update my review if needed, but for now it simply works at keeping mosquitos and ticks away during our dove season. I'll be using it during early teal season too. On that note, I would love to see Sitka bring in some other camo patterns offered for early water fowl seasons as we sure have mosquitos in teal season. I do like the hood and mask and its also quite breathable and comfortable.

Product is awesome breathes really well and doesn’t get to hot. I can’t wait to try this on opening day coming Saturday evening in the blind. I wear a lot to go running or shooting.

I love this hoodie, I wore it in 95 degrees hanging tree stands in mosquito infested woods a couple weeks ago, managed to stay somewhat cool but most importantly the mosquitos couldn’t get me.

I have not used this in the woods yet but around the house outside it works great! Nice light fabric for later summer and fall heat. I have not had a chance to test durability but don't plan to use it through tough dense cover as it seems a little light for that. Overall pleased with the piece and believe it will fill my need.

2nd hoody! First is in elevated pattern, this one in Subalpine pattern. Lightweight, perfect early season for hot afternoons or cool mornings. Was skeptical about the" insect guard" when I bought my first set. Without any further explanation, my purchase of another set speaks for itself.

Works perfectly for early season, bugs were biting me through my old gear and now I'm not getting touched, with this light weight material it wasn’t hot and I wasn’t getting bit.

Great shirt, keeps the mosquitos at bay.

Wore this for the first time today, hiked about 10 miles in the Virginia Blue Ridge mountains, it was very warm and muggy. Shirt was great, kept me cool, dried fast, and didn’t get a single mosquito bite. Also the size is great, I have a medium and it fits like a medium not like I need 6 pack Abs to wear it. I’m 5’7” about 180.

Better Than Deet

The best. I wore this in Alaska fishing last Spring. Biting flies and mosquitos were everywhere, so the fish were fat! I did not get bit one time and had NO repellent on. All this shirt.

Where we hunt there out millions of mosquitos. After getting these i haven't been bit since. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! They need to start making a youth size. Feel sort of bad for my kids when they are being eatin' alive... :)

Best Early Season Hoodie

I bought this hoodie mainly for early wood duck/teal season in Missouri and KY. Hoping to get a little use for turkey season as well. I have had the Equinox Guard pants for a season or two now and haven't had the first tick on me. This hoodie did run a little big. I'm 6'0" 190 and the medium fits me really good with extra room.

Bug proof

Fantastic product. I live in SW Florida and do a lot of fishing in the mangroves. Keeps the mosquitoes and no-see-um’s from getting me.

I love these shirts, it fits well, it works perfect and feels extremely comfortable. For me it covers a large range of temperatures and is one of my go to shirts from August to May.

Versatile and comfortable

Great 3 season piece with lots of well thought out convenient add-ons. Just got back from a trip to Alaska and this thing performed admirably. I’m 5’10” 150# and a medium just about always fits me up top from Sitka.

Color is off

Material is great. This is my second equinox hoodie. I bought a second in subalpine color. It is darker than I expected and have seen in other pieces. I wanted it for the more green color for early season duck marsh. It will work for early bowhunting and late turkey season so I'll keep it for that.

Fantastic lightweight hoodie

This piece is great in its own and it will definitely be being used as a base layer for me in the fall and winter. The built in face mask is such a cool extra detail. Fits a little big.

Mosquitoe RESISTANT

I had high hopes for this shirt hunting in North Florida. It definitely kept the majority of the mosquitos away. It did not prevent ALL bites. I recently came back from a trip to Northern Wisconsin and had two of them I wore while fishing at our cabin. Mosquitoes were horrible and I did get bit a few times. Again, the majority did not get through. It has been really hot (85-95 degrees) and the shirt has performed well in the heat. 4 stars because I had high expectations on the mosquito prevention. I wear a large in all other Sitka and this one is a medium. This shirt runs big.

Ordered these with the bug repellent. Was out in the deep woods with the whole suit and only got one bite and it came through the side of the hood by my sunglasses…..and everyone else got, let’s just say lots lol!

Hot weather gear

The fabric is very thin which being down here in Florida is fantastic. Keeps the mosquitoes in the sun off, but it is very thin and I like that.

New favorite shirt

Absolutely love this shirt. Works in a number of conditions. All the way from hot af to chilly. Protects your skin. I love the insect protection as well. Gonna wear this thing until it has holes in it. I was slightly worried about the face mask being annoying in super hot weather, but it doesn’t bother me at all. Great to have the option there if I wanted to use it. Ordered a medium and fits great. I’m 5’5” and 150 pounds. Average body type.
