Defective Equipment

Love the hoodie and the concept. Have yet to try and see if the garment actually keeps the bugs off. My only complaint was upon delivery right out the package I noticed a hole in the hood lining by the face. I own plenty of Sitka clothing. Think I speak for all customers we pay too much for quality products to have it have holes right out the package. I called customer to explain my problem. The lady I spoke with was very understanding and polite, I received a discount on my next purchase. Respect the company and what it stands for.

Overall like the hoodie but it runs larger than I expected. If I compared this hoodie to a large core light weight hoodie , it would be an XL.

No bugs!

I now have one in every color cause they just work. It’s significant the amount of bugs around your face with this on! Get one!

Bug shirt

The Equinox Guard hoodie is our go to bug shirt for hunting , hiking, yard work, anything outdoors when the mosquitos are out. I've been wearing these shirts since they came out and have never been bit through the shirt.

I bought this bc I was curious if it would actually work. What a great shirt, super lightweight and stretchy, while other on the hunt were dealing with gnats and mosquitoes, I never saw them.

Loved the hoodie- perfect weight for rainy warm days on Maui! All Sitka clothing I’ve purchased I love! It took a month to get here, but that wasn’t Sitka‘s fault. That’s just the way shipping comes to Maui.

Pilling after two days of wearing bino harness.

So I left a review yesterday. Wanted to correct a mistake that I spoke. The pilling that I am experiencing is not from pack Bladder pack its from my bino harness.

Survived a thru hike.

Wicked awesome. I rarely write reviews but this truly deserves 5 stars. I originally bought this as an early season archery shirt. Its perfect for that. Once the hood and mask is up the mosquitos have to go for the eyes, which isn't an issue because of the permethrin. They simply fly away Durable as hell. I thru hiked the AT in 2024. It was my choice for a daily hiking shirt. Literally every hiking day I wore it. Taking my pack off and on multiple times a day. It survived with a Lil bit of wear on the shoulders. It is now my go to fishing/hiking/ hunting shirt. WORTH EVERY DAMN PENNY.

Would be 5 star BUT

would be 5 star but after two wears (less than 10 hours scouting/wear) already have piling where my camelback water pack (not a heavy pack) straps rub. At this price point would expect better.

Greco-Roman comfort

I'm a 3XL type top and 2XL pants build. Ex-Greco Roman HWT wrestler for the U. S. and still at 58 have a big chest and shoulders. this top does not catch or hook up/bind on my upper body at all.

I wish there was a better way to not have the facemask up. When you have it down it can still work it's way up and feels odd.

This Mosquito Screen Works

We recently saw an online video by a Hunter influencer which said this Guard series didn't work. I messaged him and said "What are you talking about? When you wear this hoodie around the campfire, your hands will get bit. I never remember my hands being bit with other garments. The mosquitos are still there, but they will not bite you through this technology. AMAZING.

Used this on alaska caribou

Used this on alaska caribou hunt where the skeeters were insanely thick. It was a lifesaver. They cant bite through it. Highly recommend. Runs a little large but that's good as you don't want it tight.

Excellent piece of clothing, I was wearing a sun hoodie and being eaten alive by mosquitoes literally had 5 or 6 on the right shoulder and about a dozen on my left. Stopped and whipped this out and put on over my sun hoodie and boom. Those pesky mosquitoes just buzzed around no more landing and biting! Extremely nice addition!

What a Pleasant Surprise!

This hoodie is made from a unique material which is surprisingly soft and comfortable, and the hood is deep enough that you can put hat on over it easily without fighting to pull it down over your head. Very nice all around.

Equinox Guard versatile Hoody

An outstanding multi condition addition to Sitka Hoodie lineup. I found this hoodie to be more comfortable in very warm weather when active fly fishing all day used as only garment. The UPF protection worked as advertised. The flexibility when using my arms for the fly casting needed was excellent. Not to “ clingy “ like some other brands warm weather hoodie. Very comfortable material again in contrast to other high level hoodie upf brands I have used. In colder weather I wore this for outdoor 5 mile treks as base layer with other Sitka cold weather hoodie for layering. Was excellent and again no binding and material felt comfortable against my skin even with a couple times two more layers on top at end winter 5 miles treks. I am surprised by the odor control as advertised worked very well on one trip where I wore several days in a row. . also loved the pocket on RHS for glasses or whatever. Not many lightweight hoodies have that. Will wear for bonefishing next year then with layers in heavy winter activity outside and fishing Alaska in remote area coming up as base layer. I bought two more.

Just spent 12 days in the Yukon on a Stone Sheep Hunt. The Equinox Guard Hoody was an absolute standout with regards to the mosquitoes. I would highly recommend this piece of gear.
