Comfortable lightweight hoodie perfect for early season hunts or summertime fishing

Love it!

Absolutely love the Equinox Guard for early season bow hunts and even fishing. Worked really well when fishing the march and the no-see-ums are all over!

Easy Recommendation

The Equinox Guard Hoodie is extremely lightweight and very comfortable. It has allowed me to shoot wildlife photos where others cannot. I wear a shortsleeved compression shirt underneath and I do get an occasional mosquito bite where there is no second layer, the bite is not a typical mosquito bite. It is more of a “ting”. I will take that to since it allows me to photograph in areas where others are not. The one improvement I would recommend is a longer mask or a way to attract the bottom of the mask inside the hoodie. The mask pulls out from the neck area when I look up and around. SITKA quality and craftsmanship make this an easy recommendation.

Can’t wait to chase bugling bulls with my bow in this badass hoodie, face covered. Now, if Sitka could offer an all-black version along with a grappling hook and throwing stars then I might have to quit my job and start a dojo.

Another great Sitka product!

Living on the Kenai Peninsula, we have our share of biting insects to deal with. This hoodie makes it a lot nicer when out and about in the woods and wild areas of the Kenai Peninsula. Great fit and great coverage, packing weight is light enough that it doesn't weigh you down on long hikes. So far, nothing I've ordered from Sitka has let me down. Buy with confidence!

Can’t believe the insect shield actually worked! Skeeters were bad and everyone but me was getting eaten alive. Outstanding performance!

Guard Hoodie

Lightweight and fits great. Love the built in face mask in the hood. The shirt is a little longer so you won’t have any problems with it coming untucked under layers.

Works great, obviously it’s not 100% skeeter proof but it sure cuts out 90% of them.

Fits loose, amazing quality. I was concerned about the fit not knowing what was to be expected, i contacted customer service via email after hours and first thing in the morning i had a response addressing all my concerns and reassuring me i ordered the correct sizes. Blown away but the quality of the gear and great customer service. Sitka just earned a customer for life.

Guard Hoody is as advertised

Began working in yard in usual attire. The bugs were winning. Changed into the Hoody infused with permethrin and no more bug problem. They just went away. The Hoody is my third Sitka garment and they all are as you advised them.

I really like the Equinox hoody. I wear it when I go out in the brush. It’s nice and light and helps to repel the bugs. I pull the hood up if the bugs are nasty.

Awesome Protection

I was skeptical of how well the "Insect Shield" would preform with mosquitoes being very prevalent in my area. I was astonished of how well this hoodie repelled these pest and made being outside in the summer heat bearable. I recently took several of these on a fishing trip to Alaska and they were magnificent. My wife would not go outside without hers on. We made multiple hikes to fish the off the beaten path, well over 14 miles in one day and never worried about mosquitoes. Would not go on a trip without one of these hoddies in my luggage.

Amazing

Disappointed in the material but excited to test

I’m excited to try my jacket this fall, however I will say I’m a little disappointed in the material. I thought the material was thicker however it is like a dry fit material. It would be good for a very warm fall day but anything below 50 degrees i would imagine I’ll be wearing something warmer. Also, I got a XL and I would say it’s a little bigger than I expected. I’m around 6”1 240lb I’m not sure a large would be a better fit. But the XL is baggy.

I’m on my way to my property in Alaska and will put it to the test for sure but anything with a hood that isn’t a sweater in the summer is half the battle at keeping the mosquitoes away. If it works as advertised then Sitka will have a hard time keeping them in stock.

They repeal mosquitoes pretty good I would guess about 80% flies, flying ants, ticks 95% very good the make for a great sun shirt also

Clouds of bugs

Just returned from a Canadian bear hunting trip in the most mosquito, black fly, tick infested swamp I’ve ever seen. Literally clouds of bugs wanting to eat me. I purchased the hoodie, pants and gloves prior to the trip. Along with a Thermacell I never had a single bite in 5 days of hunting. I don’t know how it works, but it’s an amazing product. I highly recommend it!

Super light, very comfortable. I wore it during a 2 mile hike through a lowland/swamp area while shooting a 3D course. Did not get bit once by a mosquito.

Works as advertised

I wore this backpacking this weekend. I loved it. The mosquitos are terrible at the lake I stayed at. Zero bites while I wore the shirt. It's incredibly comfortable.

I found the hoodie to be roomy and lightweight, exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t use the face-guard, so I tucked it behind my neck. I used the hoodie for a short hike on a hot, buggy day. It performed as expected. .

Great shirt

I love these hoodies, even though they are long sleeve I wear them in the middle of the day throughout summer weather I’m shooting 3D, setting/checking stands or fishing. They are actually very cool. Similar to a short sleeve, real talk. Highly recommend.
