Fits very well, layers nicely. Bought in black for ground blind hunting and has been perfect for early turkey season mornings. Just warm enough, but very lightweight

Love this hoodie. Worn already multiple times in the woods in Florida. Ticks and no see ums are already out here and this makes it easy. No bites at all. I use permethrin on my socks and pants but needed something light weight with long sleeves. 5’11 190 and the large fits perfectly.

Superb protection

The EG hoodie arrived in time for Youth turkey season. The weather was unseasonably warm and the mosquitoes were out. I was able to call in a turkey for my son without fighting mosquitoes.

Picked up the Sitka Equinox Guard Hoodie with early-season scouting and hunts in mind—especially for those warm, buggy days we all love to hate here in Pennsylvania. After getting hands-on with it, I can say this: it’s one of those pieces that’s clearly built by people who actually hunt. Right out of the box, the fit is athletic but not tight. I went with my usual size, and it’s spot-on. There’s room to move, layer lightly if needed, and it doesn’t bunch up when drawing a bow or wearing a harness. The material is lightweight, breathable, and surprisingly tough for how thin it feels. This thing really shines when you’re dealing with mosquitoes and ticks. The integrated insect shield is something I didn’t know I needed until I had it. You still stay cool, but you get that added protection that makes a long sit or walk through tall grass way more comfortable—and a lot less itchy. The hood fits well and actually stays in place when you move. Thumb loops keep your sleeves where they’re supposed to be, and the built-in face cover is clutch for quick concealment without overheating. This hoodie is purpose-built for early season hunts, plain and simple. Whether you’re hanging cameras, glassing from a ridge, or setting up in the hardwoods, it’s one of those pieces you forget you're wearing—but you’ll notice if it’s not with you. At this point, I’ve come to expect this level of quality from Sitka. They don’t just crank out gear—they design stuff that solves problems. No gimmicks, just well-thought-out clothing that helps you stay comfortable and focused. You can’t really go wrong with Sitka—and the Equinox Guard Hoodie is another example of that.

The equinox guard hoodie is an excellent piece of hunting clothing. It’s great for warm weather hunting and it also works well as a base layer for colder weather. But its best feature is its insect repellant feature, which works great. As far as sizing, I am between a medium and large size and the medium works well for me.

Loved this hoodie with mask while hunting Oceallated turkey in Mexico! Not the coolest material with the high temperatures and humidity, but it was cool enough and kept a lot of the insects at bay.

Very thing material, similar to under armor. New England spring turkey may be good outer layer once it warms up, maybe a t shirt underneath but would recommend something else as an outer layer if it gets down much below the mid 40s. Overall happy!

Material is light weight and loved it on south Texas turkey hunt in the heat. I hope it’s durable for the price I paid for it it shouldn’t have been priced more than about $40 at most!
