The stitching is terrible on these gloves. I took them out of packaging. While trying them on I noticed stitching pulling through the different parts of fabric that make-up the glove. It’s definitely something easily fixed but makes me wonder if I need to check all stitch work on every Sitka piece of gear. They feel and fit well but I can’t trust them to last long. I’ll probably have to be ready to make field repairs if I commit to owning them.
These gloves are comfortable, have great flexibility, easy to use zippers, phone, and reload shot gun. I have only wore mine once, so I am hoping I don’t have the same issues that I have read about the durability of the seams.
I have these gloves in all colors and I am very satisfied! When a new color appeared - black, I immediately wanted to buy them. How upset I was when I received these new gloves... I'm in size L, but the new gloves don't fit the old sizes! Changed the manufacturer and got a bad result, SITKA is very bad for you! I had to give the gloves to my wife, and ordered myself again but a size larger. Be careful when ordering this item.
Great glove, tons of dexterity and keeps the chill off your hands.
Cons: Not warm. Stitches pulling and seams spitting after two uses.
Pros: High dexterity. Great camouflage.
As other reviews have noted, the durability of these leaves a lot to be desired. 3 days of use and already blowing out seams. Not a cold weather glove at all, provides little to no insulation. The moisture wicking material serves to wick moisture into the gloves and chill the hands. On the plus side, I was able to manipulate zippers, use my phone and reload my shotgun with no issues. If you need gloves for camo only, these might be up your alley.
They fit well, not as warm as I hoped they would be.
Place of manufacture has changed and sizing is way off. I have old pair subalpine and ordered ev2 color. Older fits nice no problem new ones are skin tight I barely have circulation in my thumbs. Both size L. C' mon Sitka you are better than this...
I use these gloves as the birds come in I cover my face just below my eyes to cover my cheeks so I don't wear a mask. They fit my hand great and use my cell phone too.
The seam ripped between the thumb and palm, first time I put them on. With a very light rain, they immediately were wet and very cold. Hands were actually warmer when I took gloves off. I am normally a huge Sitka fan, only thing I liked about them, does make working a cell phone better.
I really wanted this product to be awesome. Finding good gloves that combine warmth with dexterity are pretty nice, but these miss the mark. For what you pay for though with these, its a let down. If there is ANY moisture in the environment you are in these gloves will soak it up and be super chilly. Was better off using 3 dollar gas station jersey gloves. Perhaps adding a membrane of some sort to provide a little moisture wicking or water protection would be great.
Gloves fit great and accomplish all my needs.
I bought these gloves to wear the left one inside my callers glove. They fit well and are surprisingly warm for their thickness. I used them in 10 deg weather to blow snow upon arrival and kept my hands warm. They are thin enough to fit inside my callers glove without stopping circulation. I am glad that I bought them.
Great gloves…. Kept my hands from getting cold in mid 30s. Not sure about the longevity of them. I’ve only had them a month and used them just a few times and a hole is starting to form on the thumb. Hopefully Sitka will make it right.
Love the fit and feel of these gloves as well as the ability to use touch screen electronic devices while wearing them. Unfortunately, on only my third day of using the seam on my trigger finger split open which is the reason I can only give them 2 stars.
Good mid season waterfowl gloves. I like the fact that I can still operate electronic devices for pictures and videos without having to take the gloves off.
I love the glove! Fits well under my heavy gloves and I wear them going in and out of the stand. They do what they’re designed to do. Only comment to the makers is to put the material used to allow screen use all the way around the fingertips.
Great early to mid season gloves. Fit is good and snug and the index fingers are cell phone touch friendly.
I only gave them 2 stars because I love the fit and ability to use electronics without removing. Third time out the seam on shooting hand split 2 inches.
I would give these a five star for fit, dexterity, and warmth. They are very comfortable. I'm giving a 4 just because of durability. Some seams are already stretching and the material snags in spots after just one season of use.
These gloves do not live up to expectations as they do not provide much warmth or wind protection (should be a 1 for both of these). Also the outside surface is very slick and did not work well for bow hunting.
I really think this glove should be marketed as a layering glove.. I don't find them to be very warm at all.. The grip on them is minimal. Zero wind protection. Zero water protection. Don't know why they have 2 stars for those sections.. The dexterity is good.. I think the place these gloves would perform would be in 50-60 degree temps for people who are ultra sensitive to cold..
Love these gloves. Lightweight and easy to feel everything. Used them in Montana for a late season Elk hunt. Great for active hunting. Not meant for sitting for long periods.
Great Gloves.. light weight and warm. Could use a few more grips on the palm.
They're not the best but waaaaay better than many others I've tried. I have poor circulation in my hands and I live in CO so you can imagine how shitty my hands feel much of the time. I try to tough it out but it gets to be to much at times. Plus part of the key to success to anything is to have good gear. These were thinner than I thought so that's a good thing and the touch through the gloves works really well. I was surprised by this in a good way. I'm a little disappointed that they are made in Cambodia and not the USA. They work well for me and what I use them for.
Took these on a week long trip to Midwest deer hunting. Hands got cold so put these on and they are not warm in any fashion or wind proof. Total waste of money. Very disappointed for this to be sitka.
My 20 year old son wanted me to order these for his birthday. He told me this brand was top of the line. The gloves run a little small. They are not very warm. Good dexterity, though. He couldn't wait to get them for hunting season, and was really disappointed. A whole lot of hype about this brand and expensive. Will not purchase anything again. He bought himself a pair of gloves that are way warmer, same look, and dexterity.
Great gloves! Perfectly sit on the hand, warm well. I have all the colors of these gloves. From autumn to spring I wear them with pleasure. Elevated gloves are finally here, thanks Sitka!
Great and amazing gloves.
Great gloves!
I have an original pair of these gloves from almost 15 years ago. I've mearly worn holes in the fingers. Easily the best lightweight pair of gloves I've ever owned and I have dozens and dozens of gloves.
I used these gloves on a recent early season archery hunt for elk. They worked perfectly to keep my hands warm as I glassed for elk early in the day. While the XL fit me fine, I was surprised to find the fit was a bit different between gloves sporting the Optifade Subalpine fabric verse those with Optifade Open Country. I tired on several pair of both camo pattern at the Sitka store in Bozeman to confirm there wasn't a problem with one pair.....nope, the gloves with Optifade Subalpine were slightly smaller. While all my other Sitka gear is Optifade Subalpine, I am not the owner of a pair of these gloves in Open Country. I guess that would be considered a fasion faux pas anywhere else besides elk camp!
Awesome value. I bought these for bow hunting in Maine. Going to absolutely get a second pair for early season ducks, grouse, and woodcock. Great for shotgunning. Hands and fingers don't feel too restricted when hitting the safety off on a quickly flushing bird.
So I wish SITKA would make everything else this good. Not waterproof as advertised but can get a little wet before soaking to skin. Not completely wind proof as advertised. However the fit is incredible and for super thin gloves they are beastly warm for their intended environment which I don't think is below 40ish degrees if exposed to elements for long time. I use these for the duck blind in frigid temps to shoot and call but they are in my kangaroo pouch with hand warmers. Great glove.
I really like these gloves they will be perfect for bow season as well into rifle especially if you can layer them with a warmer glove when the snow flies. My only issue is I normally have ordered large in Sitka gloves but these were small so I would need an X-Large.
Excellent mid season glove, super flexible and deathly quite, great for cool mornings, my second pair, couldn’t be more pleased, thanks.
Love these! Perfect fit!!!
Just purchased. I haven’t worn in the field yet. The quality seems great. I purchased to go under stratus gloves and for everyday (cold weather) wear. Great and nice design.
Lost and found. Lost these two elk seasons ago while packing out. Found one last year while hunting same area and just found the other during shed season. Despite some weathering and being covered in elk dung they are ready for another season!
