We designed the Ambient Jacket to be durable, packable, and most of all, adaptable to changing weather conditions and levels of activity. Utilizing low-bulk PrimaLoft® Evolve active insulation, this jacket delivers plenty of warmth when you’re still, breathes well and manages moisture when you’re moving and dries quickly if it gets wet. Ideal under a shell during cold weather hunts, on its own during brisk spring and fall evenings in camp, or tossed into your pack for summertime backpacking trips into the high country, there’s never a time when you don’t need this.

Bend your elbow and put your hand on your hip. Measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the shoulder and down the elbow to the wrist bone.
Wrap the tape measure under armpits, around the fullest part of your chest. The tape measure should be snug, not so tight that it constricts breathing, yet not so loose that the tape measure slides down. Don’t puff out your chest. Stand relaxed while measuring.
Measure your natural waist, which is the narrowest part of your abdomen, between your ribcage and hips. Stand relaxed while measuring.
For hip circumference, measure around your fullest point, approximately 8” below your natural waist.
In a standing position, measure from your crotch to where you want your pants to end, breaking at the top of the shoe in the front and just above the heel in the back.
With hand partially closed, measure over the knuckles and around the hand, excluding the thumb.
If Waist and Hip measurements do not match up on the chart, choose a size that is between the two to find the best fit.
Ex 1: If your waist measures 28” and your hip measures 40”, typically the best fit would be a size 29.
Ex 2: If your waist measures 27.5”, and your hips measure 38”, typically the best fit would be a size 28.

Our goal was to create a layer that worked harder and performed smarter. The answer was in partnering with PrimaLoft® Evolve for the most active insulation on the market. Active insulation’s biggest benefit is its ability to adapt—it traps heat while you’re sitting, and breathes more efficiently than static insulation while you’re on the move. The Ambient jacket or hoody will increase the performance of your clothing system for any pursuit functioning as a mid or outer layer depending on the need.
Awesome and light weight jacket. After walking multiple miles with full packs through all kinds of brush, this jacket kept me warm and dry.
I have ordered a mid weight jacket from kuiu, first lite, mountain hardware and now SITKA, and by far this is my favorite jacket. It’s the light weight, packable, very comfortable, warm and water wicking. I’m 5’ 7” and 155 lbs, ordered a medium. The fit is perfect based on the size chart. I will be ordering in different colors.
I reviewed this jacket for Outside Magazine in early spring. Typically I'm a savage with reviews for women's gear, because there's not much good out there for women. This jacket different. I have found this to be my go to jacket not only for hunting, fishing and trapping. But also for everyday ranching, etc. It feels like butter on your skin. Lightweight, yet is warm. Great on its own, but also for layering. If you do happen to sweat in it, which is rare, it's breathable enough to dry quickly. The fabric is quiet and almost snag proof, I'm hard on things. Hands down the most comfortable and functional jacket I've worn in a woman's line. Way to go Sitka!
My new favorite technical jacket. I first wore this during archery elk in the high peaks of Colorado. Big morning ascents to beat the sun up, this jacket kept me warm, not hot, and efficient moving in the mountains. I can see this as a part of my kit for all aerobic activities: hunting, hiking, ski touring. This spring I wore the solids jacket to climb up Mt Hood, and eventually back down to the bar - the versatility of the piece makes it hard to take off! Guess that's the point. Well done Sitka.
The Ambient is the jacket I was waiting for from SITKA. This is the perfect active insulation layer that can stay on during all kinds of hunting scenarios from hiking in, to buffering a bit of wind / cold, to layering under something bigger. It breathes really well so I find I don’t have to take it on and off constantly which is awesome when you’re loaded down with a bino bivy and pack. Simply put, it’s a no-fuss performer. Sweat dries quickly, and the women’s fit is great with tons of mobility and stretch. Its light, and super packable. The solid color has become a go-to comfort layer for me too for at home and travel. Love this jacket
The Ambient Jacket checks several important boxes for me. Warmth without the sweat, and it’s quiet. It allows my body to breathe while climbing into the treestand and then keeps me warm while sitting still. Because of these features, I also find myself reaching for it for daily ranch work here in Missouri. It’s versatile and durable which make it a no brainer for me to keep on hand.
Love everything about this jacket! Fit is great! I normally wear large but Sitka runs small for me so xl fits perfect.
I absolutely love this jacket, it is my new favorite for hunting. I took it out for a hunt in Wyoming with temps ranging from 9-18 Fahrenheit. I was warm all day and it is super comfortable both when layering and by itself. I will probably buy the Ambient in black to wear around town.
I love the feel of the inside of this jacket and how light it feels. Haven’t tried it in cooler weather yet but fall is around the corner in MI. I gave it a 4 because the small arm length could be a little longer. Body fits form fitting and feels great. I ordered small and I’m 5’8 and 123lbs.
Love everything about this jacket. Absolutely perfect for mildly cold weather hunting. Only thing I’d change is the hood. I’d love an option for either no hood or removable hood. I wear a beanie or a ballcap and a hood ends up being just a mass of hot, unused fabric on the back of my neck.
