I can’t say enough about these pants...deadly quiet. I wish more of the Sitka pants were quiet and made of merino. My only complaint is that the Apex pants don’t come in any other patterns. I would love these in EV2 for whitetail and a brown color to match other solids. Hands down best pair of pants I own.

These pants are my favorite of the Sitka lineup. They are much quieter than the others. My only gripe is that they don't fit as well as my Ascent pants. These seem to run alot longer making the waist line higher, the knee pads sit lower and a longer inseam. If they kept the sizing consistent with the Ascent pants, they would be perfect.

I wanted to love this pant but couldn’t, and thus returned it. The pant is very quiet and comfortable in the right temperature (not early season). However, unlike Sitka’s competitor, this pant, and most of Sitka’s Big game pants, do not have a zipper to vent heat. In addition, there are no pockets with zippers. I found the front snaps easily came unsnapped. I need a secure pocket to store my phone while I’m crawling. Especially since the phone is my primary GPS. If Sitka makes this pant with a vent zipper and adds at least 1 zippered pocket on the front, I will purchase without hesitation.

My favorite pant for spot and stalk hunting. They make no noise while walking, which may be more of a mental thing for me than anything. But if I can't hear them swishing like other pants do, I feel like the animals might not either on those days without wind. I live in Florida, so it is HOT here. These pants don't feel too hot, but also keep you warm on those cooler days. They're the perfect all around pant in my opinion!

Love these pants for spot and stalk. They are a little too warm for early September but should be prime for the rest of elk archery season. Very quiet. Catches a lot of burrs but that's the tradeoff for quiet material. Would recommend. Layering a zip-off baselayer under for early October before using Timberlines.

Very comfortable. Liked them a lot. Ordered a 34 tall and I’m 6”2, 240 pounds. Waist fits a bit tight so had to slim down a little but I can do the button up now so thumbs up! If I bought again I might size up.

Great pants! I’m 5”8, 152 lbs. The 30R fit perfectly! Used them in the AZ desert this summer for OTC deer. I was in temps from 85°F - 58°F. Not hot at all. Love the side pocket with snap button, make no noise when popping on and off. Also two zippers, one on top and bottom is a nice feature.

To add to the list of rave reviews, I have to say that I couldn't agree more. I purchased these pants at the beginning of whitetail season here in KS, and have used them on everything from early season tree stand sits, mule deer spot and stalk hunts, turkey hunts and fishing trips. These pants will keep you warm all the way down to around 30 degrees, with a proper base layer. They're durable, comfortable, and the knee pads are a nice added bonus. I swear you can't go wrong with these pants, they're perfect for most outdoor applications.

Wanted to post a review based on sizing. I’m 5’7 and 200lbs. Purchased the 34R and they are a bit tight in the waist and too long for me. Just saying they’re built a bit better for long and lean than short and stocky.

These are my favorite hunting pants. They’re quiet and comfortable. They work well in warmer, early fall hunts in SW NM. They are also my go-to pants in January. Add a base layer for cold mornings. The southwest can be cold in the morning and hot in the mid-day. I feel like these pants kind of bridge the gap. Great for stalking mule deer - no noise and knee pads came in way handier than I expected.

2 complaints:
I’m 5’10 160 lbs. I need a 28 or 29 inch waist, which Sitka doesn’t seem to make. My mother hems them for me.

They don’t make the Apex in women’s size/cut. These would be perfect for my wife.

Writing this review from the whitetail woods in TN on my first hunt in Sitka gear. Hiked through 4-5ft tall wet grass/brush this morning and somehow I’m bone dry. At first light, 5 does came in, looked right at me, and went back to peacefully grazing. Later they circled downwind and I’m guessing the polygene system works, because they still didn’t bust me. This is a velvet season hunt, when the no-see-ems usually tear me apart. Not in my Sitka. My only complaint is that the deer have been here too long and I want to move. Wearing the apex pants with my core lightweight hoody, all in subalpine and I’m impressed. Can’t wait to put all my cold weather gear to use in CO on my elk hunt this fall. This stuff is awesome. 5 stars.

Love these pants. I have the 34T and I am 6’2” at 185 and these are the best athletic fitting pants I have owned. I have some kuiu and First Lite and love their products as well but Sitka has the best athletic fit. I have put these to the test for last 2 years and they are my go to pants still today. Wore in tree stands in early winter to Antelope spot and stalk in New Mexico to hunting hogs, Coyotes and Turkey in early spring in Texas. Still in great shape and will be wearing them in Idaho this year.

One of the best pairs of pants I have ever hunted in. From Turkey to Elk, scouting to prepping, and almost anyhting in between, these pants rule. They are a part of my hot - 40 degree kit with proper layering. I actually just bought a second pair because I will eventually wear my current pair completely out.

These things are amazing! Ive hunted for everything in these pants from turkeys, to elk, to pronghorn, to whitetail and have loved them for every second I've had them on. Never knew I'd want knee pads before now. But be carful because they do tear, if your hard on your gear like I am. The rip stop works well enough to hold until you get back home, and do a couple quick stitch ups. Would recommend!

I have worn a few different pants over the past 4 seasons, these pant are hands down my favorite pair of pants to wear hunting. I hunt upstate NY and wore these during Spring Gobbler in May in 50s to high 60s degree days. They are as comfortable, breathable and better engineered than any pant that I have worn yet. I wore them throughout early to midseason archery this fall and I'm still amazed at how much I enjoy these pants. I hunt with a tradbow and these pants are absolutely silent. With a base layer, you can wear them into the 40s barring any significant wind. Maybe Sitka will make these in a solid dark earth for 2020? Superior product.

By far my favorite pant. Living in Florida, I've used these pants in 80+ degree heat, down to temps in the 40s. Never felt hot when it's warm, and never felt cold when the temperatures dipped even without a base layer. I prefer to spot and stalk while hunting, and love how quiet the material is. I would highly recommend these pants!

I've used these pants now for the May Turkey season in NY where the temperatures reached the upper 70's, and a Colorado Elk hunt, where they were as low as 31. These Pants performed flawlessly in both environments and kept me comfortable enough as a stand-alone piece of gear without a base layer underneath. The Pants wicked away the sweat of the late morning humidity during Turkey season and provided the warmth needed with the interior micro-grid fleece during the early morning Colorado frost. The knee pads are positioned perfectly, so they don't impede ones ability to move when crawling, and are just enough padding to provide the protection needed. They are extremely durable and have not shown any signs of wear. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the Apex system, and look forward to years of comfort and durability that these Pants will provide.

I have to admit that I almost returned these pants after I initially ordered them. I already had a pair of Ascent and Timberline pants and these seemed to be in the middle. I bought into the hype and then wasn't sure how much I would use them. I had an archery elk hunt planned for late September so I ultimately decided to keep them and make a decision based on weather conditions. The forecast called for typical September conditions with a temperature range of 30's to 70's. I put these on the first afternoon we left the truck and literally wore them for 7 straight days on a back county hunt. Quality gear on this type of hunt is something that you don't have to think or worry about. These pants performed flawlessly! It will be very hard to top the Apex series and I foresee them being to my go-to early to mid season hunting pant for many years. I never noticed that I was cold in the morning or hot during afternoon hikes. The DWR material shed water very well during a light shower and walking through wet understory vegetation. They withstood heavy abuse climbing up, over and through blow downs and rocky terrain. The articulated fit and tapered legs allowed excellent range of movement while staying snug around my boots. These pants functioned equally well transitioning into early season bow hunting for whitetails and I'm looking forward to chasing turkeys in them this spring.

Very comfortable pants and with a base layer they are warm enough for cold days without a lot of wind. Should be a great early and Mid season pant and they'll be my main pants for turkey season. Wore them two days misting rain and never did get wet, they have great ability to shed water and still be very quiet. Thus far very pleased with the quality.

These pants are awesome! They are very comfortable and the most quiet pair of pants that I have owned. Nice and cool in the heat and was freeballin' in them down in the 30's and stayed pretty darn warm. The front pockets are really wide and the cargo pockets have a smaller internal pocket that keeps things nice and quiet in there. I really like the how the buttons for the cargo pockets are indented, which makes snapping them breeze with heavy gloves on. The knee pads are a total asset and don't shift around on you like other internally padded pants. Only point of improvement would be to add a vertical knee pad adjustment like you see in Crye Precision pants. It would make the pad fit better for us hobbit folk. These pants are legit, and I want to marry them.

Put 15 days on these for September bowhunting in temps from freeze to 75. Solid pant, fit my 5’9, 180lb frame well. Pants stay down over boots and ankle like they should. Rear hardly shows any wear even with 40+ hours seated to glass. Knee pads needed adjusted back into pocket once but they fit like they should and are there when you kneel but hardly notice them when hiking. Washed 4x and no loss of pattern color (Optifade subalpine). Mesh inside of cargo pockets to separate items works but I hardly need the dividers. The Cargo pocket utilizes a snap but it’s quiet enough. Pant is quiet overall. I did not get to try them in rain or even heavy dew as it was a very dry September

Everything about this pant was built around QUIET. Internally divided pockets to keep mouth calls and rangefinders from clanging. Tapered legs to minimize the "swoosh" of pant legs hitting brush and each other. The knee pads were a lifesaver this spring when it came down to crunch time with old Tom turkey. Stretchy, durable, comfortable and stealthy. An absolute must for any spot and stalk hunter!

A Tale of Two Roars

Rustic wooden gates groaned open as our Toyota HiLux rumbled through. We navigated the rutted, winding dirt road; every pothole and washboard negotiated revealing another layer of the towering Andes Mountains. A gin-clear river meandered through the valley floor. Willows on the cusp of fall color shimmered in the cool afternoon breeze. This was the start of the annual breeding season for red deer in northern Patagonia—also known as the roar.
