Deceivingly warm, in a good way. This is my first piece I’ve owned from Sitka, and I was a little skeptical but Must say I’m impressed. I’ve been using this jacket deer hunting here in Georgia. Looking forward to getting it in the duck blind soon but either way this thing is lightweight, solid and super warm. It’s kept me toasty on windy mornings in the low 30’s with a base layer and vest underneath. It’s really nice to have something flexible and non restrictive that’s not super heavy and bulky. If there were a 6 star rating, it would be appropriate for this jacket!
This jacket is by far the most versatile and functional piece of gear I've ever owned. I dont do much waterfowling, but I'm an obsessive upland hunter. Its the perfect weight to take me from cool October hunts (40-50 F) to freezing December (10-30 F) walks through the fields and swamps in Wisconsin. Previously owned the hoodie, which is also awesome, but the full zip is so much more convenient and the lack of hood makes it easier to wear my e-collar remote around my neck. The only thing that would make this better is a few solid color options so I could buy another one for everyday and wearing to work!
I love this jacket! I am a huge fan of the hoody, but I always wanted it in jacket form. I immediately tested out layering a Grinder hoody, with a gradient underneath it (my go to under the DH) and it layers very well with plenty of freedom of movement. I can’t wait to test this system in the elements of Wisconsin.
If you like the Dakota Hoodie, you will like this Dakota Jacket. All the same great comfort without the Pullover & hood. I loved my Dakota hoodie but after a few hunts in layouts my shoulders get sore and the pullover is tough to put on. So happy they came out with this full zip version. I'm sure this will be my favorite Sitka piece for waterfowl hunting. As always Sitka's great comfort & quality is built in. As far as fit goes, I'm 5'9 175lbs, medium build, and I like the large git. It fits just right in the arms and I have plenty of room for layering underneath.
